Beautifully written, skye. After reading it the Bellamy Brothers came to mind with: If I swore you were an angel, Would you treat me like the devil tonight…

Pen and Paper

You described perfectly the life of a writer! If the pen and paper don\'t understand us, who will?

Excellent poem! I also hate the days when my pen feels \"dull and dreary\". I liked this a lot. Thanks for sharing.

I agree - dreams are often better than real life. I think there is a difference between dreams and ambitions. Ambitions are about ego - dreams are about contentment.

What I like about this poem is that it is not limited to the geographical, it mentions the village, the plane as a metaphor only. No, it applies to every aspect of our lives...love, work, friends, everything.
Great writing, skye!

Well written, skye! Great question at the end. Do I stay within my comfort zone, or do I venture outside, maybe get hurt, maybe succeed beyond my wildest dreams?

Hope you do real well with your exams, Skye! But then, I figure that if you handle the exams as well as you write, there should be no problem!!! :-)

Skye, this is a beautiful, well written reminder that no matter how bad, or ugly, or terrible the action of one individual or group of individuals is, we will not be beaten! Love that last two-line stanza!

\'How the quietest of us have the loudest minds\'
That line grabbed me, Skye, it so well expresses the mind of a poet and reminded me of the other expression: Quiet waters run deep!
There is so much meaning in your writing, I just had to make it a favorite!
