I’’m sure those private lessons put you on a pathway of life long learning and discovery:)
So what was it Miss Jones taught you? Of course, it must have been poetry 😂
I bet you had a smile on your face penning this memory:)

I\'m sure those private lessons stood you in good stead for years to come, or for years that were to come, or more properly for the future. The naughty side of you just won\'t be supressed, fortunately. As always a tantalizing write!

It seems that sadly our world has become a war zone, not just on a field of battle, but in the minds of many who equate power with violence. A symbol of remembrance, the poppy stands in defiance, though it\'s head may droop, it does not give in. This poem is a beautiful tribute to those who sacrificed, so well done my friend!

I haven’t seen a field of poppies for many years. Last time in a field beside the Thames in Oxford, when the sky was gun metal grey. It was a most appropriate and solemn moment to remember our war dead. These days I am more likely to see little clumps of poppies beside the country roads near home. Whenever I see poppies, I only have thoughts of the sacrifice others have made for my freedom. I’m not sure these days everyone thinks the same, though you clearly do. A must poignant write Neville.

Great metaphor Neville. The poem by John McCrae and Flanders Fields comes to mind. A most horrific war now mostly forgotten. I would be surprised if there were even three heads left from that long ago war. My grandfather served in that war. Great write Neville

Beautifully symbolic, Neville. The general stupidities which caused the event those poppies commemorate have not disappeared. November will come, but it will be a fair bugger. The rest of the poppies died of disappointment.

Well, I chose an Easter tune for this month, July! I\'m sure it\'s Easter next week, yes?
Ahh, 3 - the same figure as the number of my brain cells! lol.

A subtly portrayed interlude. The scene is amplified through small and human, interactions and conversation. The small details lend an air of humanity to the affair. Much enjoyed by me. - Phil A.

Such a wonderful way to remember your parents in a spot which meant so much to them and to you too. To sit on that bench and look out to sea is both peaceful and calming. I have a similar place to remember my parents in Torquay. It brings them closer.
