Oh, my, a lovely penetrating soliloquy. Yes you earned every good thing that comes your way. Thanks for brightening my day... no my week... my life! OK, a bit of exaggeration, but this really moves me... many thanks!

La Banshee
L. B. Mek said:

so erm,
I looked up the meaning of \'banshee\'
to try and reduce my ignorance, even a little
but then, the Irish folklore translation
I found
does not go, with your words
I think..
forgive me, I\'m at a loss
still, I found your poetry
a delightfully intriguing read..
thanks for sharing

Reminds me of the Earth shattering day when my Dad died. Also I just happened to have a voice message he left me on one of the few times I missed his call. (I live on the east coast, he lived on the west coast and he never seemed to figure out the 3 hour difference. LOL) So I gave it to those in the family who wanted it and saved it in my phone. Only to lose it when I changed cell phones. Dammit! Now years later it seems all that\'s left are memories that fade into memories of memories if that makes any sense and pictures I still have. Oh yeah and like you the pamphlet of the funeral service too.
Thank You for the fine write Narcisa. Don

To All the Boys I Let Hit

This is so fiercely beautiful I am in awe of your self-awareness of yourself. I have no idea how much of this is literally autobiographical, but it is so dead-on sincere it\'s riveting and thought-provoking. Those are the stuff of good writing.

Chocolate City Baby

this is so raw, so true, so controlled: dripping with flow and beaming with its power of unfiltered veracity,
\'You only have one shot in this life

On the Hunt for Bliss
dusk arising said:

Or does happiness arrive as a result of a lot of different happenings, each one harbouring complacency which will dull the happiness into contentment.
Unhappiness on the other hand.... well thats another story.

Enjoyed reading your thought provoking piece today.

If this is a personal reflection of your own life, Iโ€™m really sorry about your boyfriend, your mother, and the loss of your closest friend. You express your pain beautifully

Sincere torment
JustABird said:

This made me cry. I\'m sorry anyone has to feel this way. It\'s not a lesson, it\'s a knife to the heart. And no one deserves that. Sounds like they\'re someone who would be forgiving, even without having to trade for it.

N, your poems are so authentic and vibrant. I will look in on them when I need a reminder of what it is to be young and fearless to speak your thoughts. I like the line: I need a hero, and my first choice should be me.

For the boy that will never love me
Jane Frye said:

I had a secret love too. For many years, he was the man I compared all other men to. Then one day, many years later, I ran into him and he and I had lunch together. He told me all the things I had wished he had said years ago. My head was spinning and my heart felt like it stopped, but I remained calm on the outside. We were both married and so, I kept my distance. Turns out, I was his secret love too. So you never know. By the way, beautifully written.

Peculiar to come across this today. I was just reading about the 4 types; sanguine in particular but have previously many melancholic days. Isolation and looking for the next distraction is relatable. Thanks for sharing.
