A storm at sea

The picture you paint in words is so vivid, the fear so palpable, and the revival so providential, that it takes one on a journey of body and soul. Thank you dear poet for such a fav.

Although I think you are over egging it slightly Soren, I do believe it incumbent upon the producer of your words to consider the damage these words might do (especially me!)

Ghandi (what legends are made of)

Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bow to your wisdom
my cherished friend!
(Crazy to realise
Ghandi, breathed the same air
as Hitler, same era
His letter to Hitler, I still remember
here, is that paradox
Two sides of humanity\'s, warped coin
\'Civil Disobedience\'
David Thoreau, inked it
Ghandi, lived it!)

Dear friend this is breathtakingly beautiful in verse and truth. Ghandi was living proof that nonviolent resistance brings change that endures the test of time, as we have seen it repeated by others who also understood its power. Thank you for this wonderful tribute, may his example contine to inspire and transform.

Ghandi (what legends are made of)
mvvenkataraman said:
Countless Indian leaders fought for freedom and even suffered under the British regime by sacrificing their liberty, mammoth wealth and dignity.
Gandhi wasn\'t the sole individual for this freedom. Many poets, writers and freedom fighters died and were hunted by the Englishmen. More than saying Gandhi united Hindus and Muslims, we can say the urge to get freedom united them. Gandhi started to behave oddly after freedom and favored Muslims beyond the limit that led to his assassination. He said if a Muslim raped a Hindu woman, let us forgive him. Many freedom fighters died to get the precious freedom and Gandhi was instrumental.

All must know clearly that-
Mrs Sonia Gandhi,
Mr Rahul Gandhi
Mrs Priyanka Gandhi
have no connection with that great martyr Mahatma Gandhi!
Mrs Indira Priyadarshini married a gentleman named Feroz Gandhi and so she inherited the title \"GANDHI\" and her sons and grandchildren are called with that title.

Treaty Words
Bella Shepard said:
You have chosen a wonderful sketch to accompany this poem. I so often think that our indigenous peoples posessed the true relationship of human beings to the natural world. Our greed for territory led to the systematic removal and eradication of these peoples, causing untold grief and suffering. It is our shame. Progress at the expense of our world? As always you give us much food for thought, and conscience. Thank you dear poet!

Treaty Words

Very neat, Soren.
Now, I tried to trace the quoted lines back, but Prof Google (not for the first time) left me in a state of dissatisfaction and confusion.
Have you got a quick clean link to the treaty between presumably Canadian settlers and the indigenous population?
This is not just willful curiosity - at this moment a heavy debate is going on in Oz re the merits of a voice v treaty in our relationship with our own First Nations people.
I hope this hasn\'t detracted from your adroit piece which has much to say.

You are a serial lister aren\'t you? (Killer \'About Me\', BTW) and, I have to say, none the worse for that . Densely packed with memories, thoughts and questions for me. And a tribute too the amount of work which goes into your pieces.
Many thanks Soren.
