irreconcilably different?

A good question that can be taken more than one way. I suppose that the answer is more than one as well.

Rik, I\'ve never worked out what the orchillenge is all about , but with respect to your present conundrum, I\'d say there\'s much open negotiation required here. (don\'t mind me - the sixties and seventies were my era)......

A tribute to a short but both strange and amazing life about which I had no prior notion. So Thanks, Rik.
I have to spend some more time cogitating upon your poem now.....

Your beautiful tribute brought my attention to the video of Phyllis Wheatly\'s words sung so soothingly as the painting took shape - a most interesting and inspiring poetess whose pierceing perception held me spellbound - - thank you for sharing her wonderful talent Rik.

A timely write dear poet. Something we think we can control, but our primitive brains know better. Also love rowlf\'s Liberace-esque performance of Autumn Leaves, candelabra and all.

I particularly liked the last stanza, pregnant with imagery. A timely write in this hemisphere. This brings feelings of passing time and age.

Such wonderful, descriptive words dear poet. Sitting on my deck this morning I watched as your poem came to life. That last leaf finally succumbing, and joining the autumnal stream. It is no wonder that this season is so inspirational.

The feel of autumnal essence oozes from these expressive lines - - I love the metaphor of looking at autumn and wondering how long lovers have left before winter parts and berefts them.

\"Sun ripe, weaving one last dream before joining; flowing on burnished autumnal stream.\"

This last stanza feels like a painting. A good painting.

Asteriskos, little star, how I wonder what you are? The night sky seems a miracle to contemplate, and yet some of the stars we see may have been extinguished years ago. Find the right one and make a wish. A lovely, contemplative write my friend.

This brings to mind the Kabala and the angel\'s alphabet that to those that can read it in the stars tells of all events. A very pretty write

I think I see a transformation here, that the end of this relationship has produced, only for the better. No longer a raging, soaring sea, but perhaps peace and tranquility. Don\'t know if I got it right, but I love a poem that makes me have a good think!

This poem evokes so poignantly the feeling of loss that accompanies the final goodbye. The second to last stanza describes this quite powerfully. Such a good write my friend!

This short snapshot of a poem dives deep into my heart and soul. I have live oaks show branches are covered with Spanish moss that this so reminds me of. At times an orchid will flower them. Nature is truly beautiful. A great write.

Good write CB.
You sneaking off early, saying goodbye before the orchilenge 50 is up?! lol.
Well, I\'ve not practised what I\'ve preached - sometimes no poems written, then 1,2,3, whatever on other days.
When is the 50 up? Somewhere half-past Autumn, whenever that is?! lol.

The ephemeral nature of news with absolutely no perspective unless a considerable investment in effort and energy is employed pisses me off greatly.
Apart from that I\'m mainly a happy chappie....

(That\'s definitely a vote in favour, Rik.)
