Cheers PH - this is the top of the High Road in Market Harborough. Just had a big row because BT removed a telephone box situated where the dark shadows are in this painting. After a great furore they have agreed to replace it. Oh the trials and tribulations of local politics.

So very good Michael
Well done....
Me and my lovely
Wife have just been
To the pier in my
Town for a walk
Around the marina
Your painting looks like
Exactly where we parked

Thanks MICHAEL ~ Two more HAIKU with gentle humour accompanied by a an equally gentle painting ! Thanks for caring and sharing. For JAPANESE HAIKU and SENRYU there are rules as strict as the EU ~ but we English have more laissez faire and subject is as important as style. So we aim for 5-7-5 but don\'t always achieve it ~ we are renowned globally for our humour and we like our ditties to rhyme so my HAIKU (and SENRYU) often break three GOLDEN RULES and I am careful never to visit JAPAN ! In your comment I think you committed the word NOT after the forth word. Like the infamous \"Sinners Bible\" which states the Seventh Commandment as THOU SHALT COMMIT ADULTERY ~ It sold out in a day ! Yours BRIAN Please check my Poem ~ Thanks B

Good write and great pic. If we were fussy, we could insist Haikus MUST be 5.7.5. But it don\'t matter if they are not always exact - unless we\'re counting! lol.

Your talent with brush and water always amazes and this piece today just took my breath with its lines of reality - a wonderful treat to see your portfolio my friend - - and yes the haikus raised a smile with their terse wit. Perfectly done again Michael.

Okay so haikus are supposed to be funny but why not. There are only \'rules\' in poetry - no laws. If rules were meant to be broken why write them in the first place? Plus a watercolour of my town. Went into town yesterday - the sun was out and the centre is a riot of colour with large tubs of flowers everywhere - regularly voted in the top 10 best towns to live in the UK - I feel honoured to live here. (Well actually I live in a village just outside the town so I get the best of both worlds.)

This one is truly impressive. Not only for the pathways trail winding toward the sea, but your descriptions of it and the final \"demise,\" are brilliant. A great poem. Loved it. - Phil A.
P.S. - Is that a French clown looking down from the clouds?

Ah - this has to be one of your best pieces of descriptive poetry Michael - a delight to read over again this picture of a path\'s journey to seaward demise. A perfect match to the striking watercolour too.

Bill Waggadagga was drummed into me at school back in the distant path so I never liked him. I went to see Macbeth recently and it only reinforced my feelings of dislike. Did he write all those plays anyway?
