Firstly before i read your post, dammit thats a really appealing piece of artwork today ME.
Just read your comment about the artists eye in photography... so true. With my beat up old pentax and cheapo darkroom i showed those boys who had all the expensive gear a thing or two. Catier Bresson was a great teacher.
Say cheese of course..... if i take a pic of you and ask you to say michael, immediately before your next breath there will be an expression i want to capture.

Brian here ~ Gut Morgan Onkel Andy ~ You have opened a Gorganzolas Box with a mention of C*E*S* ! In our College - PHOTOGRAPHY - is rightly classified as APPLIED SCIENCE not ART ! We were organising a PHOTO BROCHURE for the Catering Department who is very proud of its *PLANCHE a FROMAGE* ! When the Chef had arranged the Cheeses for the Fotoshoot ~ I solomly addressed them and requested their best CHEESY SMILE ! erm try a joke, that doesn\'t chalk: like \'how much weight, in the wisdom of diet cheesecake?\'
if you hear an answer in reply, I doubt the cheese has a smile worth photographing,
if you sense tiny vibrations: then be ready to snap, before it cracks-up... lol
like the outline shape of your picture, a new take that adds more depth with its rounded corners, it represents a mental state: ready to \'roll with the waves\' and survive till the very end... (at least that\'s my feeble take)

it is write\'s like this that give more relevance to November 11th (UK) and May 25th (USA), we must ever remember those who died to instil within us our freedom right\'s - to share our thoughts freely,
Personally I treasure finding a supportive environment like MPS to post my feeble effort\'s at Poetic content, I just hope it isn\'t consumed by the \'us & them\' fractions who can\'t cohabitate with other\'s opposing mindsets, I think there is room enough for all of us under the ever plentiful sky of Poetry,
good to see you posting Michael, hope you continue to utilise this avenue for shading some of the frustration you must be feeling, it all helps my friend, stay strong!

Absolutely agree with you here. Yet eyes blinded by dogma will think you a traitor.
It seems loyalty, goodness, patriotism etc have been hijacked by the tradition which ties together monarchy and the organised church.
Surely our supreme loyalty and responsibility should be to mankind and the planet and not the words or command of a small dubious bunch of characters who are riddled with dual standards.

On a light note - aww, but the National Anthem is one of Miss Berles and my favourite tunes! Fido even sings to it.
But to pick up one point - there can be loyalty to an Almighty God, or gods of various sorts. Then a line of a hymn \'Whose service [to God] is freedom\'.

POEM FOR A WINTER\'S NIGHT

This picture is a new album cover of a band called Glass Tiger.
Although not known here in the UK, Glass Tiger made their name in the 80s and still remain very popular in America and their home country, Canada. They have worked with Rod Stewart who has also recorded some of their songs and they are an award winning group.
I\'ve been working with them over the last three months and the image featured on the cover was chosen from several concepts which I developed from their fairly tight brief. I also did another painting for the back of the album.
This year they had all their gigs cancelled and were looking for something to do and hit on the idea of a Christmas album. They have contributions to their album from an orchestra here in the UK, a singer in Italy, an opera singer in LA and for their cover from me here in middle England. We have all done short interview videos which they are putting together into a promo video which I hope they will be putting on YouTube so I wait to see.
It\'s been a great experience working with them but whether it leads to any others - well who knows.
The album has just been released and if you google \'Glass Tiger, Songs For A Winter\'s Night\' you\'ll get many hits featuring the cover.
