Knowing how well jazz was at one time brought over by such as the Duke makes an evening\'s effort at entertainment either successful or not - hoping next time the Club will play real jazz for you Andy.....

Thanks UNCLE ANDY for your frankness ! When I (BRIAN) worked in Industry I played acoustic Guitar (Hofner Cello cutaway) in a JAZZ BAND. I played fromm Chord sequences and the Leader (Clarinettist) said my SOLO SPOT should be different everytime we played ! A CHORD notation gives 100+ variations ! Loved the video ~ two of my fave Jazz Artists ! Thanks for sharing !

As a session electric guitar player one of my favourite \'jobs\' is to play on \'Sultans of Swing\' when I get chance. Another favourite is with girl singers when they want to do \'Spooky\'.
Those were the days my friend!

Long ago, as a child, whilst watching a cowboys and indians film i first heard the phrase \"The paleface looks but does not see\". Right there and then i began to evaluate it\'s meaning.

I haven\'t stopped.

There\'s a Bible verse: \'They shall see, but shall not perceive, etc.....\' They looked but never really saw.
Bit like \'Just because I\'m in a garage, if you look properly you will see I am not a car!\'

Yes lightening is forecast for the southern coasts today Andy -- it sure does illuminate a darkened room with a sort of excitement. Electric bulbs come a weak second to lightening\'s powerful force - - a lovely read and here\'s hoping thundery weather brought no more damage to your neck of the woods my friend.

The nights draw in as we head toward another season. But ahead there is springtime too when the world explodes with life and hopefully we find ourselves refreshed and re-energised. I know i am hoping for dark days to pass and bring forth a light for the future.

GOOD EVENING UNCLE ANDY - Thanks for the video ! We both find the Music paradoxically soothing & invigorating - Music for All reasons ? Why do We write Poetry ? A lot of our current Poems are collaborations which we think makes them better than our solo efforts ? It is unique way of sharing across 11,500 miles and baking a Poetic Cake between us ! CATHARTIC. That is also an element of of your Poem today because of the Mental Gulf which has developed between You & Your Beloved Joyce ! And of course the difference is (for which I apologise in Context !) By NOVEMBER ANGELA & I will be together forever in Essex or wherever Life & Love take us ! Thanks for sharing & caring !

Blessing & Peace to You & Joyce

Why Do You Write Poetry?
dusk arising said:

Initially i think we are lucky if we are touched by the naive instinct to write poetry. But the more we write the more \'stuff\' pours out of our minds. We begin to explore all the feelings within us and soon see that others are doing this too.
But then along will come a truly trying time for us and we dig deeper into the pain which tortures us seeking answers and peace. Answers to questions which nobody else\'s answers will satisfy.
I believe we come to find those answers within ourselves.
The most theraputic voice i hear is the voice within.
