A most interesting read of your visit to both oil and photography work Goldi - - - both can find a place in modern society and your awe at such skill comes over so well - thanks for sharing it.

There is much debate in the art world about painting in the style of photorealism. The argument often heard is that you might as well take a photo.
There is undoubted skill in painting in this style but from an artists perspective (well certainly from mine) there is no soul in it – there is nothing of the artist in it, there is no artistic interpretation. I would go so far to say it is not the work of an artist but of an artisan practising (very skilfully) a craft.
Well having got that off my chest I much enjoyed your poem Andy.

From the drawing of our first breath we are conditioned and shaped by the society and culture in which we are predominantly raised... tis a good thing many of the boundaries, stereotypes and prejudices of old are gradually being broken down... I raise my glass to the tolerances I anticipate tomorrow...... a splendid observation captured and now of course preserved for eternity .... Neville

I\'ve still got the original Geard Hoffnung recording i
of the brick song - it had me in stitches back in the early 1960s and still does - the anticipation of what\'s coming. And I recognise the write - it\'s great to hear an east Asian with a cockney accent - no disrespect just admiration how they have embraced a different culture.

Thank you for your kind words Tamara, I believe I have had,and am having, a good life.

That young lady is very good, I can understand her being referred to as Pavarotti\'s granddaughter as some of her expressions do remind me of him. She will go far in the operatic world.

Goldfinch60, your poem expresses the joy of a life well-lived and it is so thoughtful of you to include your wife in your blessings. I loved this poem.

You speak of classical music and I don\'t know if I\'m allowed to include someone else\'s video on this site due to copyright infringement, so I\'ll just give the url on google.

You have got to hear this young opera singer from the Canary Islands, Spain.

She is the second song on this website and her name is Sislena Caparrosa. Although she is mistakenly referred to as Pavarotti\'s granddaughter on Google, she is not.

Nessun Dorma. Check it out. Second song. I actually cried. She is that good.

Life is but a thin veneer. When I lost consciousness through blood loss the other week and before being resuscitated I felt as if I were in a calm place floating in air and wondering if this was the end - thankfully they revived before they needed the the defib but for me it was a surreal experience. Yes my life will be worth watching.

I wish I live to write a brilliant poem such as this when I\'m 70 (I\'m 35). This poem oozed with wisdom, reflection and humblenes.

The line \"So much music, so little time\" really stuck out to me.

A fine write Gold. Yes a very long life for us - you and me, and maybe others too, who were there since before 1066! heehee.
Any anniversaries next year - years end in \'19, or maybe \'69? e.g. 200 or 250 years ago, etc? Oh the moon landings 1969. We were there to greet the first earthlings!
