Reading your incredible poem, Goldfinch, made me think of my dad\'s best friend. For years, after he could not care for her anymore at home, he visited his wife who had Alzheimers, every day, fed her, stayed with her, read to her, even though eventually she did not recognize him anymore. We all have to be prepared to be in the same position one day, and your poem, even though it did bring tears to my eyes, also gave me a lot of hope. It is like a beacon of light in a dark place!

Also, I was struck reading a bit of Revelation lately. It says a time will come with no more mourning, death, crying, or pain. In that time those things are called \'former things\'. Meanwhile they remain, as we all know. Those sort of verses inspire me to some of my most, well, inspirational, poetry. Not that ALL of the present life is as a vale of tears though.

It\'s not the first time a poem of yours triggers something in me - some feeling, and then I shed a tear or two. Even some lesser emotive themes and experiences. Thinking of you both. Love wins through somehow, some way. Anyone can just SAY that, but not the same as living through it.

Goldfinch, I think the lines \'Time, that never-ending line of moments\' must be one of the best descriptions of time I ever read. Great poem!

The correct answer to the question: \'What\'s the time?\' is of course: \'
\'the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole.
Why does nobody ever get it right?

Time as we perceive it is a weird commodity.
Have you ever heard yourself say \'I won\'t have time until Thursday\' ? Erm.... thinking about it is sure to produce a headache. Or \'Thats the last time i tell you\'.
So we created time zones to make time more manageable (does it?) but regardless of USA being 5/6 hours behind us - it simply isn\'t true is it. Time is time its just the \'stage\' of the day thats different.
I try not to think about time too much - though i hate being late for appointments.
Your writing certainly provoked me LOL.

Good write G/F. Yes, when we ask someone \'what is the time\' it\'s a different time to what time it was when we asked them what the time was. I mean, about 3 seconds have passed, as they look at their watch and tell us the time!
You started me off now, with your ins and outs of playing cricket poem. lol.
What \'time\' was it when I told Harold to look up?!
