\'Shall renew their strength great
They shall mount up as with wings
As of eagles, each sings
They shall run, not be weary
Shall trust confidently\'
liked this little gem, almost a standalone stanza in its own right,
reads like a song of hope for tomorrow\'s youth

I must confess, I do struggle with the general Christian conceptualisation of there being a supreme being or entity existing somewhere and or everywhere throughout time and eternity unchanging and perfect ...

Oh\' and qualified from the off until whenever to make decisions that judge or determine right from wrong based upon a single personal preference or whim ..

Blimey, not even my Dad bless him was that magnificent ... awesome yes but not godlike ...

Forgive the rant but I suspect that all of those things I just referenced might have influenced my own early decision to favour and follow the more peaceful and balanced way of life advocated within Buddhist teaching and where there is no omnipotent spiritual figurehead ....

I nevertheless have no problem with anyone thinking or believing otherwise ...

Brian here ~ Thanks for a very uplifting Hymn & Meditation today. There is a complex Universe so there must be a CREATOR and a priori that one Unique Creator must be OMNIPOTENT ! We will never understand the COPLEXITIES of the Food Chains & Food Webs ~ but they work and LIFE GOE ON ~ AMEN !

Glad you mentioned omnipotence. Omni potent - having unlimited power and potential. Now if i mention the suffering your god allows to happen to man then you will tell me it is mans doing and also a punishment for crucifixion etc.... yep heard that stuff ... i dont buy it but... what about the terrible agony your god caused when he created insects which lay eggs inside another living being so that the hatchlings may eat the host alive from the inside?
Doesn\'t quite add up to the omnipotent god of love which you like to think exists does it?
If your god created that, then who in their right mind would want to worship him/her/it. That isn\'t a kind loving god of goodness.

O.K., so I asked my wife (a Sussex girl) if she knew the song, and she did not. But then, she\'s not exactly an exemplary Christian, after all she married me. She has a lot of explaining to do. Where was the recording made ( Cathedral? Church? ). She guessed at Chichester.
Your poem ,I must assume, aligns with the celebrations of that time of year. Your message comes through loud and clear. It brings much needed hope at these trying times. Thanks for lifting our spirits with some Christmas cheer. - Phil A.

Yes been in that Church, helped take services in there when I was Chaplain to the Sea Cadets. Knew one guy in the choir and one of the ladies in the congregation that I saw is in the Community Choir of which I am Chair. The mayor, I know very well, used to quiz with him in the quiz league, he is in a wheelchair now but an amazing personality.
