Why? \'God knows\' as the saying goes, usually said out of resignation, but true words.
An extract from my nutty \'Meanwhile....\' jottings: \'Why did I start singing, and cause so much misery to millions?!\' heehee.

Neville,

I’ve read your penned words a few times…very interesting. My take on this is that your poem is not about a man and/or a woman at all. Depending on the reader, a poem may have many interpretations. More often than not, your poems do lend themselves to that.

I\'ve reversed the roles a couple of times but never met (yet) one so obligingly caring.

Initially i thought you were going to be writing about a boat (first six lines).

Amen!
(one political family\'s, obsession
and an entire nation, left
in utter devastation...
I\'ll never forgive Blair
for tainting us all,
a true act of cowardly
Judas-esque, Venality!
making us all, unwilling perpetrators
of such a heinous
tyrannically wilful, disregard
for life..)

it will be our children

to know this is our reality
despite all our progress)
an important write, dear Poet

Probably add a few more countries to that list. Sadly, Ukraine affects us financially, so we dwell on it more and more.

Dear Neville, you are so right. Ukraine does get all the oxygen right now with 24/7 news coverage on the ground. But suffering is suffering no matter where it happens, and just because we don\'t see it happening in real time doesn\'t mean that it\'s not real or important. Every war or conflict diminishes our humanity and has a ripple effect around the world. Thank you for these words that should resonate with all of us.

Straight away i thought of the besieged people in ukrain cities having to drink water of any kind, sewage and heating system waters. Yet in many parts of the world people have been drinking contaminated water all their lives it seems.
Water a basic human need regardless of politics and race. Why cant we solve this basic problem.

A bold and essential poetry
The world reeks of alcohol
But no pure water for the simple soul
As summer advances
Not the news of nations drying
But news of enormous population vanishing
Very essential dear Neville
Truly you spoke the true words
Penned and justified
