Elusive Blues
L. B. Mek said:

those blue flames of passion
once we squander them
so impossibly hard, to ignite it within another again
but what to do
some mistakes, try as we might, just can\'t avoid
and although our loyalty may have failed us once
we must still strive
to find a path, to that Phoenix pulse of our love...
(this is how your poetry, expressed itself to me my friend
love the subtlety, a joy to read
even if it brought back some unwanted memories)

So true, corruption has always been there unless you see through it and move along a different pathway.

Covid is the thief, who steals life
from unsuspecting souls,
spreading corruption and strife
Oh yes , it has a strong hold

Not even masked men can conquer
Though try and trace
Oh, what we humans endure
With a Mask upon their face

Found in your blood stream
Searched in your pocket of privacy
Covid makes every soul scream
It came from you, not me

yup,
just wait till history books
\'write it up\', all tidy
and retrospectively - tampered with, fact
who, to blame - blamed likely
survivors decreed, mere lucky
and for those in power, an opportunity
Missed-out or Capitalised upon
so just another dogmatic tale
to be worded and preached
for the lowly majority\'s
fearmongering attuned, manageability\'s ease
cyclical, isn\'t cynical enough
to do our capacity for pathetic
enough justice!
still, we got Big Brother\'s apps didn\'t we
all Orwell prophesised and everything...

Just a teeny bit enigmatic, Nev.

‘Like to elucidate?

‘t’s not as if I don’t like poetry where more is left unsaid than said, but mystery and inexplicability bring on a certain nervous condition (the details of which I will not disclose here)….

No? You are going to hold your fire until other poets have..... ain\'t you?

Covert is one of my favourite terms to describe Covid - how did you know that I wonder ! --- your penned question Nev. has more than one answer but one in the eye for cunning Covid is to be known as a determined survivor - - methinks - - maybe .............x

There are many survivors of terrible episodes in their lives. All too readily we can think of the terrible loss of life in WW2 and extermination camps.
How does lockdown/shielding compare, are we heroic survivors. No. Though a dramatic episode in history it does not compare to history\'s disasters for us survivors.
But it ain\'t quite over yet.

Sorry to go off subject Neville but the above are thoughts which came to mind reading your words my friend.
