Neville,

After all the suffering throughout our history, there’s still so much hatred going on. Will we ever learn?

You’ve poignantly penned a subject matter that boggles my mind; a necessary reminder of how inhuman humans can be for their own pervasive pleasures.

You spot the \'Like\' button. We can\'t cheat on it like before (or on another site). We could keep \'liking\' our own poems then, and the total went up! heehee.

Amen!
(made me stop, and contemplate
not only the six million
but the millions from before
and the inevitable Billions - to come
with a heavy lump, in my throat
I squeeze out, a next breath
and taste
a reminder of what a gift, it is
to be alive)
thank you, my friend

Once more, a great piece, Neville. Another topic I cannot deal with anymore (as if I ever could).
But I have no confidence that it could never happen again…..

Heart-wrenching the feelings that these lines evoke Nev - each individual giving up life for a cause that should have brought peace - may those candles burn on forever each inscribed this time with a much missed name.........x

Each and every one of those candles should burn into our soul, our conscience, so that never ever should any such chrime against humanity be contemplated ever again.

Do we ever learn peace and brotherhood of peace?

Judging fit to be demonized is all too familiar as you outline fools\' logic here with a great last line - - with that title too you hit the nail smartly my artful friend.

Great poem Neville which raised in me the hopeful thought that our solid old harbours shall once again see the tides turn and have a second calling. They do have a rugged beauty which cries out all of your verses to those who pause to behold.

Ripe: for Conquering, once again
only now, its a psychologic warfare - game
depressingly...
history, sure does like its repeat episodes eh my friend
like clockwork, some sage\'s foretold and foretell
we cockroaches self-sabotaging eventually,
our blind rage of orange, lunacy
a bit lick a clockwork orange film plot, only
this be modernity\'s unfathomable: reality...
sigh, Sigh.... SIGH!

yes: we certainly are, aren\'t we
and not - so much, just metaphorically either, sadly
its that Icarus - of foolhardy heredity, I suspect...
that\'s a razor sharp wit you\'ve cultivated my friend
you can recognise incisive humour
when the words paint a worryingly sobering reality
yet you\'re still - genuinely
laughing with unfathomable gaiety...
brilliantly executed!
a write I wish, I possessed the talent to pen: sincerely
a bit early in the week and day, I know
but cheers for the giggles anyway, my friend 🍻
