Delivered with a punch. Sharp and without feeling. She undoubtedly had someone else at the top of the queue. Breaks are always easier for those who have found someone else. The poor sod left behind is the one that flounders in a quagmire of hurt. Painful brevity here Neville.

I wondered what possessed her to leave, but then reading your comments answered that questioned. A disturbed young girl, sort of lost in this world. It was saddening to read. Your poem describes a parting of ways between two lovers, that one cannot understand, because it is illogical. The way you wove in the bridge is cleverly done. A most enjoyable read. - Phil A.

I believe it went, \"She\'s cold as ice!\"

A good read Sir Nev, much enjoyed the emotional coaster.

Ice cold stares, going against the flow, and bridges,

When I first read these lines, I saw a dead woman in a river, but then I scrolled down further to find that you had given the game away.

Maybe she just wants to be remembered and that is why she still haunts you. Light a candle for her and speak fondly to her. Maybe then, she will leave you be Neville. An emotive write, sad with it too. Suicide, such a lonely, violent ending 🙁

This sounds suspiciously like another tale of KP and I. Did ya marry her sister? Has she got any?!

Someone just got put in their place. All need remember, the higher up you go the further you can fall.
The longer the list the more to be disappointed.
A lot to be said for this short of a poem. The message came in loud and clear. Why do people insist on being \"Rank\"ed? it\'s as if everything is a game. Enjoyed this one. - Phil A.

Perfection in the way this has been executed. The last couplet goes for the jugular. Masterful in delivery Neville. What a put down for someone in cloud cuckoo land :)

That glow and the drawn curtains makes me think of a working gal. A lady of the night, maybe. Sackcloth though? Would have thought she might have worn something a little softer to the touch. It seems she was troubled by all her shadows. I can understand that. Bills have to be paid. Children have to be fed. What an intriguing write. My imagination seems to have gone awol with this write Neville. Glow though, has a certain warmth to it. Captivating writing for sure from your prolific and varied pen.

Maybe some people just have too much to say? There are times when a bit of quiet is appreciated. This little piece of brevity can generate much thought and different thinking Neville. Second reading of this, I sensed a little frustration.
