Veils Of Mystique

Say what you will, this is a damn fine poem. It is best that we share ideas and thoughts rather than dealing in secret. Openness mainly brings with it, truth, while secrecy harbors evil. A fine poem Cassie. - Phil A.

Very nice Cassie yes, it is the rare person that stands up against the crowd. Most people go along, even if they don’t feel like it. What we don’t realize is that one person can change the tide of a majority. Standing up for what one believes gives others courage to do the same.

Cassie, this is poetic indeed it has several wonderful lines“ harvest hardship in monochrome “ Is my favorite. Other poetic inferences add depth to this poem. The draining of color from the picture as the draining of lives that are in it. Then there is the last line the analogy of the small hurt fingers that cry out just as the small children do beautiful

Hey Cassie, this poem is a moving tribute to the enduring power of love and the human need for connection, even in the face of aging and cognitive decline. It invites its reader to reflect on the complexities of memory and identity and the small, tender moments that define our humanity. Much enjoyed!

Cassie, this poem presents strong contrast between an infant in arms and an aging mother. The image I get is one of a very hard life for a woman who gives birth up through her later years. This seems to have taken a toll in her stare and tuning out of even the sound around her. Her mission is to take care of the child and that is all. Mother’s take care of their young at their own expense and to their last ounce of strength. Wonderfully written.

I imagine that as a reverse tree hug of sorts, having reclined against a low lying branch myself and splashing the streams flow below. Oh for those days. Even now some people would view that as lazing away our productive sunlight hours. But I dare go back! Thanks for bringing us there Cassie.
