Oh for that time so expertly described in this perceptive write to be resurrected when \"smiles never felt precious\" - one your best my friend and into my list of faves this flies.

So many times in my life, I have heard an aged person relate a story beginning with the word \"once\". We are priviliged to have all of those once\'s in our lives. This is beautifully and so lovingly written dear friend!

The Who? Of me and you
sorenbarrett said:

L.B. The first few lines set the tone. Our skin is our wrapper. It defines our boundaries and the first thing we see as to who we are. It is constantly being discarded and changed over a life time, sometimes for the better, sometimes not. But then the whole last stanza states the obvious, I over think and put too much into this. Can\'t help myself, it is what I do. I think this goes deeper but I have already dove to the limit of my breath and must return to the surface.

A most beautiful and distant view of eternity and its changes. Nothing is forever, but memories last as long as life and focusing on the wonderful brings nostalgia and peace.

A Poetic, Anything
sorenbarrett said:

This poem L.B. reminded me of my own inadequacies and humbled me. I had to reread it several times and each time a different interpretation occurred. Indeed shallow cuts can damage the heart and their smiles. I loved the term \"dew tears\" yes this poem seems to apply to people and nature. The next stanza brought to mind not only a personal lifetime but the whole evolution of language and the written word. How often in writing poems they are a Phoenix in that discarded words resurrect and are reincorporated in the final draft. Poetry as a means to many ends, whether self curative, inspirational, narrative, or just art for art is just that sensitivity put in art.

That longing for closeness, and the anticipation of waiting is both a wonderful and agonizing thing. But then the duality of life itself is what makes it intriguing with the illusion or actuality of free choice. Nature teaches patience.

L.B. I couldn\'t agree more. Our technological progress has far outstripped our social progress. We hold in our hands advancements that are beyond our societal advancement. Some day there is a need for a social revolution that will push us not toward the stars but closer to our fellow man.

Motherly love us men have a hard time understanding or appreciating. Too late in life I saw this. This unconditional love that seems almost universal amoungst all living things. A wonderful write.

The blending of reality and dreaming in this wonderful poem beautifully depicts the perfection of love through all its stages, as we remember it. A feast for the heart, this one dear poet.

Is not life itself but a dream? How to tell the difference? Scene by scene we pass through it. Your first stanza says it all
\"Dreaming, such a unique gift in our lives
A mercy, to counter yearning\'s gangrene\"
I love those lines.
As the poem proceeds through seduction and romance so do our dreams. Lovely

Traversing life’s, muted Crescendo’s
Bella Shepard said:

I find dear friend, that the hardest thing in this world to change is a mind. I think of these song lyrics from the musical \"South Pacific\"

\"You\'ve got to be taught
To hate and fear,
You\'ve got to be taught
From year to year,
It\'s got to be drummed
In your dear little ear
You\'ve got to be carefully taught.
You\'ve got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes are oddly made,
And people whose skin is a diff\'rent shade,
You\'ve got to be carefully taught.
You\'ve got to be taught before it\'s too late,
Before you are six or seven or eight,
To hate all the people your relatives hate,
You\'ve got to be carefully taught!\"

Predjuice has been passed down generation to generation without questioning why. This is such a powerful truth you put before us, superbly written! Thank you.

so much said in the first stanza alone. As in all good writing the first is a summation of what is to follow. I love the poetic description of fate at birth. We are all destined to prejudice of one sort or another. It seems to be in the human condition to discriminate. I have given up discriminating against skin color, health conditions, gender but still find myself discriminating against those that try to take advantage of me or harm me. I\'m working on that. The whys of why some are born to such terrible situations gos answered. \"Spare me from Aurora\'s sorrow\" This line hit deep. Is it the awakening knowledge that light brings that brings regret? Carpe diem my dear friend.

History has not smiled well on this half of humanity that we hail as mothers, sisters, daughters and wives. Their flowers too soon fallen and forgotten. Without their support and indeed triumphs stolen by past acclaimed heroes we would not be where we are. So many valiant women warriors now lost to time, courage they did not lack nor compassion that men did not possess. A wonderful and well deserved write so well put.

A beautiful tribute to spring. However, at the risk of venturing too far I think it goes much farther. The primrose and spring itself symbols of rebirth, renewal and optimism, like the phoenix from ashes, SPRING from mother Gaia in new birth. The regeneration of weather, life, emotions, or the soul are wonderous to behold. Lest I wax on too long, I love spring and the summer. Such a heart warming write.
