I think we all crave what you wrote. I believe you have captured a universal desire of humankind. You have excellently presented it and made a poem for the ages. Terrific poetry. - Phil A.

Very beautiful…..
desires that perch upon my pillows every night
The desire to get to that place
The place that brings calmness inside….
And these lines so much apt
“all I need do is find a path
To its mountain peak of sublime “

I admire you for that desire sir for I am made of far less demanding stuff. There will be no niche for my laxadaisical chameleon excuse for existence. I am just another grain of sand on the beach of life\'s detritus filling a gap wherever the wind and tide of creation will fling me just as it has for millenia upon millenia with the passing of all and sundry... though a twinkle in my eye begs reincarnation.

Give me a bar of chocolate, oh, and two Kalashnikov\'s. You really couldn\'t make it up. But hey, that\'s his right. He can bare arms, the Second Amendment allows it. They\'ll be all sorts of fancy arguments, it\'s not the gun, it\'s the person, all heard before and will be heard again. 19 kids will never grow up now, yet this great country appears to be fine with this.

Peacetime in a civilised society demonstrating it\'s inalieable right to honour a 200 year old ammendment and it\'s unquestionable consequence.

How long before I send my child off to school with a 9mm automatic in his lunchbox just in case. (a ludicrous next step crossing the minds of mixed up america???)

How else can american parents hope to protect that love, nurturing, ambition, pride, adoration and encouraged free spirit in their young henceforth knowing that one day Bobby or Mary-jo may not come home.

I must be on another planet. I have grieved and conversed and even read and commented on this latest tragedy. But I have yet to see a news feed on it. Not that many of the news agencies are reliable anymore. Thanks for sharing a larger picture and an felt poem. /Rik.

We must be Kind, whenever possible

Choose gentle, Tenderness

With our words and actions

Keeping each other’s finite, Fragility

as that Cornerstone, selfless Consideration

Guiding, what Empathy we offer willingly

and that love, we share Defiantly

Daringly, knowing it may never

be Enough…!

Yes Yes, LB. Love is the weapon we have. It’s our best shot our only hope. You’re words, your poetry, your feelings painted in prose, that is the stuff that restores hope! Thank You

You touched my heart on every stanza dear Mek, but as I am a mother of a.nine year old I can only be grateful for your empathy and compassion, I believe it to be painfully hard to be a parent there will always be life events that we cannot protect them from, my boy has already seen a world pandemic and a war. For those who go around killing others because they can, should never be excused. 💖 As you always do you bring something very powerful to the table of poetry. Thank you.
My favourite stanza
Parents, barely able to stitch their children

Back into some semblance of a person

After school shootings, bullying campaigns

And trending nihilism’s, suicidal machinations

I\'m liking the \"flow\" this poem has. It feels so seamlessly tied together. There\'s many layers of love going on, and the imagery you portray is astonishing: \"My wingtips your landing strips / Seabed as our roof-light.\" Truly golden.

I suppose the inevitable at some point was going to happen. The moving on part, now, that\'s either an okay, it happened, but let\'s not make it happen again. That moment in time, two people needed each other. I would hold onto that.

From friends to lovers even for a moment, I felt all the emotion available in this beautiful if not unattainable piece so significant to so very many. Forbidden love is as much a form as it is painful as a dying love. Exquisite dearest Mek. 💖 And as you well know I love the theme so very much.
