The poem serves as a call to action, urging readers to recognize and confront the systemic issues that lead to suffering and corruption, and to inspire a sense of responsibility towards societal improvement.

Nearly missed this one, N. I don\'t visit as often as I once did, and then sometimes cursorily. So thanks for the back up; where I live the issues are plain to see.
First is of course shelter, the cost of a home impossible, particularly for the young who wish to have kids. This issue has many societal deleterious effects - prevents women\'s escape from domestic violence, youngsters escaping from dysfunctional families, and so on... Child care is mostly in the hands of profit making enterprises, which it would seem do not worry about the provision of professional properly organized staff to form a culture and systems where this kind of transgression would be virtually impossible.
So government has no interest in really sorting the housing issue or providing proper resources for child care. What is to be done?

Hello, Nafisa,
Where now the ones of mercy, the ones of compassion, even one single humanitarian politician. One can feel the anger in your poem and angry you should be. My heart goes out to these innocent victims and pray someday they find happiness in the joys of life that they truly deserve. Your poem highlights the corruption and those who suffer because of it in a powerful and heartfelt way. Thank you very much for sharing this.
Wishing you all the very best,
Tony.

The world seems to have a shortage on compassion. Nicely worded this poem calls this point out.

Hello Safina,
How the great orators and the weight of advertising can fool the masses to elect and then regret succumbing to the big lie and the litany of broken promises. An exposition of heartless leaders and their effects on the common folk in a down to earth narrative makes this poem compulsory reading for those of us seeking change and a better way of life. Excellent, my friend.
Do take care now,
Tony.

What a sobering and sharply delivered poem. The rhythm fits the disillusionment well, and that final line really drove it home for me. Truly, an excellent job, my dear friend. A fave. 🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

Thank you for putting into words the great deception that has been perpetrated on so many, who knew so little. Buyers remorse is a terrible thing. How we will recover is anybody\'s guess. Thank you for speaking out!

In this poem you have expressed the sentiments of many. Does one have to amputate the leg to save the life or will the person die of shock and hemorrhage? Time will tell but for present there is certainly much pain and a lot of morphine may be needed.

And now watch the flowers grow from below. Wow, how profound! What a question you\'re asking, but I think by asking it, you\'re taking on the voice of the whole world. This text shows the courage to know oneself so fragile and yet reach out to reach for the eternal. Thank you so much for sharing. I enjoyed it very much. Best regards.

Hello, safina,
A beautiful poem of wonder as the author ponders her legacy after the inevitable. Perhaps to be remembered as one remembers the loved ones they have lost. In a way the question also asks, how do people see me now, those nearest and dearest to me, colleagues, fellow poets etc. You have treated the subject admirably, delicately without being morbid. I like this poem, very much so and I am sure your poetry will live on and be loved long after you have flown. Much praise for this one.
Hope you have a lovely week ahead,
Tony.

Cheeky Missy said:
Rather vivid despite the disarming simplicity unveiling scenes of destruction gradually unfolding to a devastating conclusion. And yet, the winds and waves obey the LORD, to Whom we cry for mercy and deliverance, as the Scriptures declare. Excellently rendered with superb imagery and a painfully haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

What a relentless, vivid ride, my dear friend! I love how you give the storm a full arc...a furious beginning, vengeful peak, and even a worn-out exit. That personification is strong throughout, especially the final stanzas. “Laughs till they do split” is a chilling, poetic image. Beautifully done. 🌹👏
