stars
Soman Ragavan said:

My comments on the poem \"Stars” by NafisaSB
Poets are fascinated by sunrise, sunset, the moon, the waves, mountains and the stars. The special thing about stars is that they appear to twinkle. This adds to their mystery and their appeal.
You say “The star you choose for yourself” Thus, it is possible for us to choose one star. That star does not mind. It continues to look at us and to shine for us. We are not the only one to look at it. It still shines towards anyone looking at it. This poem is typical of how poets feels towards the mysteries and wonders of the earth and the sky. Your writings are certainly poetic. Soman Ragavan. 29 May, 2023. // https://allpoetry.com/Soman_Ragavan

What\'s that line: a good heart these days is hard to find..goes with friends also, I am grateful for the few I have.
I\'ve learnt to expect nothing nothing and ask little, after that is only joy.
And if I may ramble a bit longer- everyone will be judged by their actions, and God is the rewarder.
Love to you and all.

Like the message and the content and what I really think was brilliant was the phrasing rhythm, very fresh with nice juxtaposition of modifiers and stamped endings avoiding usual cliche’. I’m a fan

Nah I need to have grudges - it saves me from further disappointments when my newly instituted trust (on your advice, Nafisha) is freshly abused.

Books vs wapp
L. B. Mek said:

depends, dear Poet
are you not still reading?
well then
maybe this is a mere, deviation
a break
soon, if you miss your literary vice
enough
you\'ll be nose deep again, reading
something
with a little more substance;
see, its ok
if we take side paths, from time to time
we need only remember that destination
we were aiming for
and we\'ll soon find ourselves, back on track
do not be too hard on yourself

Brilliant!
and so true
\'quality over quantity
and
sincerity over simplicity\'
to follow, as other\'s do
to belong to majority\'s, rule
is that safe passage
and choice, in any life
(a short allegory, if you permit me:
used to be, scientist\'s assumed
zebra\'s evolved their black n white stripes
to blend-in with their surroundings
and yet, eventually
logic prevailed and people realised
blank n white, could never blend-in
amongst nature\'s barren desserts and forest green
aesthetics
so then, it became clear
zebra\'s, camouflage themselves
so they blend-in
with each other
as a defence mechanism, see
the odd one out from the herd
is first to be targeted
by nature\'s hunter\'s and bullies...
and in Japan, there is a saying
to avoid, needless allegorical story telling
\'“The nail that sticks out gets hammered down, first”)
and yet this inherited, zeal
for conformity and self-subjugated states
of existence
do not seat easily, with some of us
and it shows
in the choices we make, from the miniscule
to those we let, stand by our sides
as we traverse, this accursed
life of endlessly chaotic, strife
and how do you recognise
these few, who choose
to be true to themselves:
by the glint in their weary eyes
and those smile lines
not too evident, when not in use
but deep as dimpled craters
when they share a laugh, with those
they care about...)

Legacy
L. B. Mek said:

Amen!
so true, dear poet
(indeed, deeds of vanquishing feats
may appeal to youth\'s vehement ideals
but, wiser heads
do realise, it be those small gifts
in life, that reward us
our most meaningful mementos
and curate, with every choice made
the echoing legacy\'s of worth
in those footprints, we leave behind...)

And learnt well by the feel of it.
The term \'Friends\' is used far too loosely. \'few good friends\' with the emphasis on \'good\' just about covers it.
