You seem to have captured the mood of the time. We are dishonoring our Eden even today. Very well said.

Welp, pretty much epitomizes the whole banishment of Adam and Eve, very well and succinct. However, I feel this could be deeper for the relationships in today\'s age. Well done!

Psychological cancer
dusk arising said:

WE shall all share the peace of interment or cremation one day though I believe our spirits will pass into another realm.
I think many of us carry a sadness from a past event or many events but these are concealed from the day to day. I have a deep sadness for some thing very close to me but i do not let it show unless a trigger finds a chink in my quite thin armour.
When people are terribly hurt the pain resides within them forever but for most of us we can say we are more than that pain, I will not let myself become that pain.
Yours is a very sad poem and I am sorrowed to read you carry such pain. I empathise and wish you the strength to face each day through.

A quite downhearted perspective. I can relate though, sometimes others can make you feel this way or maybe it could\'ve been brought up from self. But nonetheless I hope you can fight on and keep your head up.

Deep sadness can be a killer. It can indeed be like a cancer eating away at the heart and mind. A sad poem, but one filled with respect.

The death of Osiris
Rozina said:

Yes it is true. We often take things for granted especially when it\'s been around for so long. Then suddenly it\'s not there and the loss is profound. A good write.

There are many \'sunlights\' we may bathe in and whilst relaxed take them for granted only to feel their true worth and value once they are gone.

Experiencing the void of loss teaches us to value the sunlight whilst it shines and pay it due respect, homage and love that we may enjoy it\'s company in a shared harmony.

My favourite time of day... just add the evening song of a blackbird and I\'m content.

We were not created in God\'s image we created God in ours

I must agree with your words here. The trouble with religion is that each different belief thinks that theirs is the one true religion, and everybody else is wrong!

Very well said but ... ssshhh the brainwashed may be watching and you\'ll upset them. I have... regularly.

Though I\'ll admit it\'s fun to watch their rhetotic struggling for logic.

When I was a small child I used to wonder who were these sinners who my religious instruction teachers would talk of and why did they always seem to be sinning. Religious instruction actually introduced sin into my young life.

I never knew. Such interesting creatures. Monogamous like the albatross although climate change has brought some changes to their lifestyle. Thank you for this intriguing poem.

What an extraordinary relationship you have had with octopuses, I did look up the plural, and what wonderful observations. I\'ve seen several documentaries on the species and you\'re right, they are the most intelligent of creatures. Your poem is so beautiful and loving, and expresses the very nature of these sentient beings.

Rocky Lagou said:

Sorrennnnn SORRENNNNN!!! YOU ATE IT UP with this one. I\'m literally at a loss for words. I love your sass and your sarcasm with the lines \"Selfish? I never sold a fish in my life\" I literally gagged when i read that line, and this poem LITERALLY encapsulates my messages in most of my poetry: live for yourself. In the poem \"Giving Up Poetry\" I tried to convey that message of, \"Just because I promote focusing on self, doesn\'t mean we shouldn\'t focus on others.\" I totally live for kindness and generosity, but to put it straightforward, if we can\'t love ourselves, how in the world are we going to love others. Wonderful job!

Wonderful words about these incredible beasties. ive heard it said that of all the creations on the planet they are the most likely to be of alien origin. Each tentacle has a mind of its own too.

Super celebration of these creations from you today.

I read this through the first time, and enjoyed. Upon the second reading I got the Selfish, never sold a fish in my life and had to burst out laughing. How did I miss that the first time? The true narcissist can justify anything, and you\'ve captured that to a tee.
