Words do have power, without doubt. They can provide much joy and equally the cause of much hurt. It is difficult enough crossing international barriers and cultures, without problems arising in one’s own language. Individuals have their own way of saying things which may cause confusion to others. There’s hundreds of ways of saying something which can then be open to interpretation.

Navajo has no word for goodbye, only physical parting. I think he is right.

You made me think of my Dad, I never got the chance to say goodbye to him yet his spirit, thought and influence are ever present. No contact there at all.

A thought provoking write Soren.

Ah. Words…they have the power to build up and heal or to tear down and destroy. A beautiful poem with a profound, multicultural and universal message of wisdom! Well done! 🌹👏

Yeh – the subtle connotations which can attach themselves to otherwise roughly similar words to those in one’s own native language can cause confusion, Soren. As a last resort one can always fall back on “Bugger off’ 😜
Keen write - great collection.

Truly stunning dear friend a language treat with a twist of wisdom. Addio is also a way to say goodbye in Italian when we are unlikely to meet again, just showing off my skills as a bilingual 🤣

I can drink coffee anyway it is made for me but my preference is Columbian coffee black with no sugar.

As an aside many years ago when I was working in local government we could not ask for black or white coffee it had to be with milk or without milk.

We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here, but I can imagine the feasting done on this day. A day to pig out and probably alot of left overs in the kitchen. Does make you think of the hungry. My mum wouldn’t let us leave the table till our plates were clean. You reminded me. A poem of contrasts Soren. Both humour and sadness.

Black when I could drink coffee! Now RLS has ruined that, but this poem friend, I will take any way you give it to me! As for the strings on a puppet…so true. 💯 Well done! 🌹👏

Technology seamlessly integrates into our lives, becoming both magical and omnipresent. The poem seems to highlight how these invisible tools shape our perceptions, much like CGI in movies or cream in coffee. It could be a reminder to us to appreciate the subtle yet profound influence of innovation.

I don\'t remember the last time read such scathing critique of overindulgence in such crisp and almost comical tone. Reminnded me of Charlie Chaplin,\'s style. Truely remarkable. Advanced apologies for any misinterpretation

I think this is a great perspective, focusing on how it is an integral part of life, even if at first glance it appears to be a dirty operation.
