Dost Thou Still See Me?
L. B. Mek said:

maybe in June
you should re-share this work
of searching, humility
and a snapshot of a questing
honest heart\'s, embattled
state, in yearning to balance
that juxtaposed fate
curated by fallible human
interpretations
segregating, faith from nature
when, in truth
none of us, can define or verify
what our deities
expect from us, in our ephemeral
lives;
indeed, all we can ever trust is that
being true to ourselves
is as close, as we will ever get
to being granted
a glimpse, beyond that existential
veil...?
\'for naked: I\'m clothed\'
it\'s a harsh reality, to find
your faith as a source of alienation
from your self-worth..
stay strong!
dear emblem of youthful wisdom
stay PROUD!
(not just in June) thanks for sharing

Cockroach!
sorenbarrett said:

In Florida we have palmeto bugs (huge roaches) the size of your thumb. Here in Brazil there are even bigger ones and some of them fly. You can hear them comming from a block away, they are armored and if they hit you (their landings are not well executed) they really hurt. Your poem brought these to mind.

Cockroach!
Bella Shepard said:

What a coincidence, just today I recieved a card in the mail telling me it\'s time for my quarterly pest control appointment. Guess I\'d better jump on that one. There is nothing worse than creepy crawlies in the middle of the night, no matter what form they take, to make you want to sleep with one eye open. And even when they have been thus vanquished, the uneasy feeling remains that they could come back. Cockroach, thy name is Fear, in all shapes and sizes and we will confront you, sandal in hand. Great write dear Rocky!
P.S. Hope the cockroach problem gets resolved real soon.

Oh I have to say I love in your comments where you told your mom to \"rest in power\"! Yesterday was my moms birthday and I felt her...beautiful sentiment in your poem and just remember they do love us.....their energy or presence is just on another level, I\'m sure she is so proud of you!

I am grateful for your comments about the poem, they give it more context. It is still deep despite this and I feel the mortality of the person and the immortality of what one leaves behind. Good write.

Dear Garden of Eden
sorenbarrett said:

Each line refers back to Eden or some aspect of it. Each leaves me with a feeling of revulsion. Supposedly it was in Eden that problems began. It was there that temptation started and bad choices were made. I\'m not so sure I would want to go back. It doesn\'t matter because once innocence is lost there is no going back. A very nice write with subtle meaning.

Dearest Rocky I understand your reflection, and given the state of our world it is justified. Take heart, that glimpse of Heaven is there in the whole of creation, we\'re still learning how to live and adapt to it, but we are impatient for change. Pour your heart out in your words as you have just done, for it can lead you to a more peaceful place. God bless dear friend, you\'ll find what you are looking for.
