Love and Pain
sorenbarrett said:

The first two lines, to me reflect aging and the passage of time. So well worded and imaged. The second stanza forgiveness and hope, while the third reveals how love blinds one to passion of the past. The last two lines are ambiguous depending on how the reader takes the earlier stanzas. It may be that continued loss is the pain that lingers with patience in the form of love awaits to change or more positively a persistent and undying love awaits the inevitable reunion with what is still a stranger and is willing to suffer the ongoing pain of separation until such a time. A fave

I think the book upon the shelf tells the story of a lost love, and the longing to hear once more the voice that spoke the words softly and lovingly. I could be wrong, but I love the story. Such a lovely read!

The Mocking Bird Joke

A ferocious bird that defends its nest and territory against squirls and other birds enlisting help of others from the flock. Indeed it may mock and eat you right out of your smock.
