G’day Thad (not really, Is it?)

“The Devil take the hindmost’
- Our Society the host.
Capitalism is great
For those, the wealthy who rate;
But not for me and my mate
Who are now getting quite old
And soon will die in the cold.

There he goes again – Dave ranting all political……

Brings to mind that old song (now) that goes “sowing the seeds of love…” and also now this poem has altered my view. Seeds indeed may be sown but there’s no real guarantee they would grow and mature! It puts into perspective that unrequited limbo that many if not all have experienced at some point in life’s journey, usually earlier on in the game.

A poem of love unrequited too common in this world. Sad but something that happens to many people. Very nicely written with a sense of nostalgia and wistfulness.

Beautifully stunning, my friend! And yes, sonnets can be about love…because you’ve said so! Seriously, though…this brought tears. Excellent job, Thad! An easy fave! 🌹👏💯

Very nicely penned sonnet on lost love Thad. You have switched from making us all laugh out loud over the last few days to a real weepy. I think your versatility is brilliant. We never know what we are going to get next. A touching and emotional write. Love hurts at times. It did here.

Although wot about the constipation?
Couldn’t pop down for quick trip to the loo -
Drug smuggling out of the question too……

Pleased you are now on the straight and narrow, Thad and made yourself an established Poet Supremo….

What a great story. Unique and fun as a punishment for a minor crime that lasts for ages. Then the punch line that made me smile

I love the humour in your poetry, even when you write about being banged up, you do it with humour. It is a serious subject and i should not not, but i cannot help that by the way it is written, really enjoyed the read.

Let’s hope the chick here keeps the Grim Reaper happy ever after. She might also exercise some influence, so he stays at home and doesn’t go off visiting so often. That makes for happy all round. 😂A fun write Thad. Happy Friday to you.

How I feel about much love poetry is exemplified here:
So let’s defenestrate it to the devil and be of good cheer…

No persons or poets were harmed during the making of this monumental versification…
