Yeah. You pretty much summed it up. I am going to remain positive, though. Only road to take at this point.

You did a great job on the poem with rhyming, first of all. Then you brilliantly but sadly summed up what a mess we are in. The stanza about Putin really mad me sad. We\'ll all just have to wait and see how things turn out. This is one of my favorite writes of yours. Hugs in spirit--christina

I used to celebrate Hogmanay many yrs ago, as a kid. Was great times. Its more of a quiet time for me now. Im happy as you said new yr new start. Plans ect. Focused on my community and family loved ones. Love is such a special gift and I practice it every day with a smile and a hello. Passing on the positive approach I have to life. Took a while to get there, but got there eventually lol. Loved the words. Lyrics are my thing. As is yours have a great new year 🎇🎆 ❤

SHOULD YOU EVER GO BACK ?

Well I went back and nothing was the same - familiar yet distant - so the poem really resonates with me

I\'m impressed. As others have started it makes you think. Theres really no point to much of what people call \"social interactions\". Perhaps we do so to no longer feel as if we are alone. Thats the only reason good enough I have thought of to risk harm and death in this world. Then again I leave my home only for two things. To help where I can, those who truly need it, and to obtain what I need to live.

SHOULD YOU EVER GO BACK ?
Augustus said:

The poem is nicely done in rhyme, meter and in the emotions it conjures up for the reader. I grew up in a beautiful country side atmosphere which is now covered with subdivisions, shopping malls, traffic, etc. The worst is all the gaudy advertisement billboards, lack of an architectural theme and trash on the road sides. Here we do not use the word \"gated\". Websters says: (at British universities) to punish by confining to the college grounds.

I guess it is the answer to why one leaves home in the first place that they might or might not return? I do not go back anymore, although, I do drive through on occasion as it is a beautiful place. Nice idea to get one thinking, Brian!

I get this, a lot. My favorite days are the days leading to Christmas and the day itself. I try not to feel blue on a day like today, even though as I write this I have to get my house in order. But, all the same, great job on your poem. I love the part about Grannie from Wales. Very good job!
