The ENGLISH are so contrary about the WEATHER. We moan all Winter about the COLD and then when we do get an INDIAN SUMMER we\'re scared of DELHI BELLI and if it lasts til Autumn ~ BERRY BERRY. We (H. Sapiens Sapiens) caused GLOBAL WARMING so we will have to suffer the consequences ! What ever level of CO2 Homo Industrialus sows ~ A Temperature Rise shall he also reap ! WEATHER ~ OR NOT ? A Modern Poem

No speling ither.

The British weather is not normally so consistent as it is at the moment, as far as I am concerned the quicker the frosty mornings come the better I will like it.

ENGLAND ~ GREAT AGAIN !
FineB said:

Hi Brian,

An awesome, superb and brilliant sports write.

Thank God England overcame the curse of the dreaded penalty shootout with their 4-3 penalties victory over Columbia.

The sky is the limit in Russia 2018!

England need to be cautious with Sweden the Swedes are quite good in Europe!

Come on England!

BRIAN & ANGELA said:

THANKS FAY ~ ENGLAND 5 COLOMBIA 4 After extra time and a dreaded Penalty Shoot Out ! England did it the hard way but the Q Final against SWEDEN should be easier. I am very happy with the result because we are a Young Team with a New Manager and we played like Gentlemen ! Thanks for your encouragement ! It\'s 9:30 am (WEDNESDAY) in New Zealand but ANGELA was up early and able to watch the whole Match with the other Brits ! Love BRIAN & ANGELA XOX

Count me in for the wine and biscuits but sorry the game simply has no appeal - -- however I respect that any true-blooded male Liverpudlian will want to set me aright on tonight\'s match - - enjoy the excitement dear Brian and may your team win. x

PENALTY SHOOT OUTS ~ KO ! A Blank Verse Sonnet
Michael Edwards said:

And here\'s me remembering shoulder charges and charges on the goalkeeper - oh those were the days before it became a game for wimps - and if only they would do away with off-side rule and open up the game and make it more exciting - just pipe dreams Brian. Great write as always.

PENALTY SHOOT OUTS ~ KO ! A Blank Verse Sonnet
BRIAN & ANGELA said:

HI SWEETHEART ANGELA HERE ~ Its 9pm (Monday) here and I\'ve finished for the Day ! Nice Sonnet on PENALTY SHOOT OUTS which a lot don\'t understand ! In essence SPAIN were a lot more talented than RUSSIA in the Game : but you cant argue with PSO\'s! Now that SPAIN (my Dad\'s Team) are OUT I can start supporting ENGLAND! Now that Australia are out most KIWIS are supporting England but for us the LIVE TV is 6am Wednesday Morning so we will all be up early ! I have a late clinic on WEDNESDAY (4th July) so I will not have to rush into work ! Because the KIWIS are such \"mobility\" fanatics there are a lot of evening Physio Clinics : Love the Poem & Pictures : Love you too All my Love ANGELA XXXX You are a SWEETIE : Thanks for including a clip in which SPAIN beat our NEIGHBOURS PORTUGAL in a PSO in the 2012 Euro! ANGELA XXXX

PENALTY SHOOT OUTS ~ KO ! A Blank Verse Sonnet
Goldfinch60 said:

I inadvertently watched the Russia/Spain penalty shoot out - it was quite good, no cheating and fouling going on as is the norm in football.
Saying that though all seems to be going well in Russia there certainly has not been any sign of trouble and all the supporters seem to be getting on with each other - I hope that lasts.
