THE DEBTOR
dusk arising said:

There was this bloke called John Major (left the circus to become an accountant - true) who failed the nation one day when the ERM backfired on UK and interest rates went through the roof overnight. Mortgage payments trebled, houses were repossessed, Disposable income became a thing of the past. As a self employed tradesman at that time my income quickly fell to zero. Nobody could afford to have any home improvements.
I know all about being a debtor. A position my government put me in.

GOOD MORNING MICHAEL ~

NEITHER A BORROWER NOR A LENDER BE ~
FOR BORROWING DULLS THE EDGE OF HUSBANDRY !

So wrote the BARD and it still is a fave quote of my Mum\'s ! Unlike so many of my PEERS (30 - 40\'s) I am totally solvent and always clear my cards every month ! OK I\'m still single etc but even when I have a mortgage (that does not count as a Debt in my book) and an ANGELIC Wife and Kids etc ~ I resolve NEVER to be in debt and always to live within our income(s). I blame the \"buy now pay later\" Society and easy credit. I have known people whose debt has led to divorce and even worse suicide ~ When will they ever learn ~ When will they ever learn ! Thanks for adding to my FUSION ~ please check my poem today it is dedicated to STEVE (ORCHIDEE) an excellent MPS Friend to all ! Love CHRYSANTHS ~ a tad early this year ~ There is photographic evidence that my Mum had GOLD chryanths as her wedding bouquet and she has them in her garden ! Loved your Poem an\' Pic ~ BRIAN I am posting a FUSION on FLOWERS tomorrow ~ If you post a POEM I will change the picture ! Yours BRIAN

We had a manageress. Mostly a complete *****. Within a few months of arriving, she said \'Well, I would advise you lot to search for new jobs soon\'. She may have mis-used our wages too, but we shall never know the truth now. I\'ve heard two sides of it.
Her husband is a church Minister - but there you go! Have to move on from that now.

A fine write and pic Michael. I know - I see some homeless in town, some with dogs too. This shouldn\'t be my first thought, but I may think \'I hope the dog will be all right!\'
Sometimes we may blame ourselves if it wasn\'t our fault that we got into debt, or whatever problem it may be.

Michael,
Romp worthy indeed...
your limerick...of course🤣
The chuckle of the day🤣

I tried to translate it to my mom!
That was hilarious!
She recognized the
Campanula Carpatica!
She exclaimed,
“Oh, le belle campanelle!”
(Oh, the beautiful little bells!)

She and my dad were the best gardeners in our family! She took care of the flowers and my dad took care of the vegetables! They lived part of their lives on a farm!

Thank you for the share!

Thanks MIKE ~ as we both know ~ noting in this life is permanent and everything fades and dies and is forgotten like the rest ! Even the BEAUTIFUL and LOVELY like the Snap Dragon and of course Princess Diana 20 years ago as we have been reminded recently ! I\'m a similar age to William & Harry so I am empathetic with them and for them ~ Yours BRIAN

Michael,
What a beautiful Antirrhinum!
Love the colors that nature used to paint it. Super!

I’m so happy that you tell us the botanical names of the flowers you post! I would have to spent a lot of time researching the ones whose name I don’t know...such as this one!

Sadly, the poem reminds me of my parents...one is gone and the other slowly going! Such is life!
The bright side...
I’m grateful she is living a long life!

Trump is a horrific joke come true. He was featured in cartoons decades ago as president! As a joke! I CANNOT believe they made that moron the president! He\'s practically illiterate. Have you listened to him speak when he\'s not quoting a speech he\'s memorized that someone else wrote?! America used to be great in several ways but there have been several prominent people admit that we\'ve lost a lot of what made it great. It\'s sad to think that with all the advancements we have made, this is the mess that we are leaving our children. Btw, the natives were horrendously treated and many still are. Although the government, has over time, given them certain rights and benefits to attempt to make up for stealing so much from them in the past. (Too little, too late if you ask me) I have native great grandparents and some of the stories I\'ve heard are truly horrific. You\'ve really started something this time Michael!! Lots of comments and opinions. Well, you\'ve gotten us all thinking!

I\'ve always admired the craftsmanship that goes into each boat. This is a wonderfully descriptive piece. The flowers are beautiful and exotic looking. We don\'t have those here. I usually screenshot your work (and a few of the flowers) to read (and look at) whenever I want (they\'re saved in my pics) I\'ve saved both of these! Another great post! I always make a point of checking your posts whenever I can get to MPS. Thank you for sharing your vision.
