Color in nature serves a multitude of purposes, attraction, defense, mimicry, and temperature regulation to name a few. To us they add beauty to what otherwise would be a dull landscape. Think this way- Antarctica is pretty dull, until the Penguins show up.
Your poem paints a colorful canvas of some of natures finest models. Your words are splashes of pigment that explain our appreciation of nature\'s abundance.
Loved it. - Phil A.

Love the visual FAY it is a great compliment to your Poem. When God created the Natural World He was lavish with his paint brush ! This is why we have such excellent colour vision and when we visit Ireland we can distinguish even more than \"50 Shades of Green !\" W also have a responsibility to preserve the beauty of Earth\'s flora & fauna. Thanks for sharing and caring.

Beautiful images, of the sea and the shore causing reflection of things passed. The ocean is symbolic of many things in life, the past, present, and future, love. faith, strength, weakness etc. Maybe because it encompasses 70% of the planet, it weighs heavily in our souls and our minds. You enlighten us with the manifest draw the sea brings to past recollections. We live near the ocean and are constantly drawn to walk its shores and to watch its forces at play. Great write. - Phil A.

Thanks FAY ~ Love the visual ~ very evocative. The sadness in your poem reminds us all that we should always seize the opportunities ~ each day ~ to ensure that when the Day of Parting comes there ar no regrets. Thanks for caring & sharing ~ B.

In the irresistible loss of my mother I\'ve talked with those closest to me, to find they confess meeting in their dreams whom they\'ve loved and since lost, where I recoiled from such a thing, yet once or twice have found it. This is, as wont, in your characteristically seductive style which draws the reader into the folds of that visionary wold (as Mrs. Barrett Browning referenced) where we lose ourselves to a moment to find..,.how crushing Death thievery forever is, yet granted a touch of solace in beyond, is that? Thanks for sharing. Love you! Oh, and kiss Princess Tessa for me.

Thanks for sharing FAY. Left to their own devices all of Nature survives in an equilibrium of Natural cycles ~ chains and webs. Things only go wrong and species become extinct when Man ceases to operate as part of the Natural System and become technologically abusive and obtrusive ! Thanks for caring.

Freedom has its disadvantages. Given the choice of a cage or the wild land I know the animals of prey would vote for freedom. Only man would choose to put them there, messing with what is real and true. Nicely done

I was with it all the way painting pictures in my mind - superb as always Fay. So looking forward to when the lychnis and campion grace our countryside once again. Although I see in the garden already I have polyanthas, crocus, snowdrops and hellebores blooming their little hearts out.

YES INDEED FAY ~ For many retried people (who live alone) in our Church Circle it is their DOG that keeps them sane. This especially true if their Children & Grandchildren live far away. We have to remember that DOG spells GOD in a Mirror ! I have never owned a DOG (my Mum always had CATS) but I sense that DOGS have a special empathy with their owners ~ which is beautiful to see ! Lovely poem ~ thanks for sharing. Great picture love the significance of the brolly over the DOG not his OWNER !

The girl seems to be very mature, while the young man is still immature, but her prodding won him over. Did I get it right? This is quite descriptive with a nuance for the, as Brian says, coquettishness.
