Oh lovely Tristan, no judgements. I judge all the time: Others: do they, are they likely to harm me in any way, physically or mentally. Me: that act was not up to the standards I aspire to....

I have a slight feeling I may have approached your piece from the wrong direction.....

Yes, we judge daily and we needn’t confirm but deem and appraise what is worthy to bring with us into tomorrow 🕊️🙏🏻

I feel there is no one who is equipped to judge anyone including judging ourselves, acceptance is a better use of emotion and time, enjoyed the read

Here here Tristan. I believe it a destructive illusion that one can even judge oneself. In actuality I believe that each man does the best he can with the tools that he has and his knowledge of the moment. It is not our fault that some have fewer tools or are not in the same moment as we. What we perceive as evil or bad is nothing more than an empty toolbox or one with the wrong tools and he attempts to sink a bolt with a hammer and tighten a nut with a hacksaw. Good write and a fave

Hey T! Your poem storms with vivid fury, dragging shadows into the light and naming them boldly. Yet in its surge of darkness, there\'s a defiant spark—a rallying cry for inner reclamation. The closing lines land like a spell: simple, steadfast, and fiercely redemptive. 🙏🏻🕊️

Made me sweat, Tristan; and I\'m not sure whether it was the demonic nature of your subject matter or your words pouring out in proliferation there.

Next time I\'d like a jolly one please😂

You\'ve successfully woven an intricate tapestry concocted as an exorcism in and of itself which yet mystifies me. Fascinating, and intriguing the while it seems familiar, beautifully rendered with beyond excellent imagery and a deeply haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

A poem about the demonic it gives a magical mantra to expel the evil. Nicely worded and clearly imaged in vivid forms. Very nice

This poem hits like a citrus shot to the soul; sharp, electric, immediate. The language punches through pretence, demanding authenticity in a world slick with masks and synthetic sweetness. It’s rebellion wrapped in brightness: “Smile, / Shine your lemon peel,” suggests not just resilience but defiant joy, like daring to be zesty in a system that wants bland. Here is a response in verse for your enjoyment: “Peel Back the Neon”

Spit shine the bitter truth— no sugar coat, no soft landing.
The real rolls in like thunder wearing citrus and static.

We bite back with tongues dyed bright.
Laugh lines splitting through fluorescent doubt.

No algorithm knows how hard we hit when we hit with nothing to prove.

Peel back the neon skin— under it: something too loud to fake.

Oh this is truly rich indeed! We\'ll swear like sailors, with \"pardon my French,\" in polite company, and pucker up to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, eh? This must be the real reason I forgot this morning when ordering Starbucks to say my usual, missing the lemonade in my drink--because you\'d penned this. After that, I give up. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a curiously haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

Alliteration alleviates anger angels allege. There seems some irritation in this poem my friend. As for a citrus fix I have been drinking a dozen lemons a day in lemonade fresh squeezed to ward off colds and although correlation is not causation it seems to be working. A fun read whatever the fuck

Yay! Double Fave: poetry is peripatetic. Poetry, like the peripatetic thinker, never stands still. It walks—sometimes lightly, sometimes burdened—through time, memory, landscape, and language. To say poetry is peripatetic by nature is to acknowledge its instinct to roam: from mind to page, from reader to reader, from private confession to universal revelation.
