Don\'t fully understand the activity, Andy - but it\'s obvious you spent an evening having a good time,
The bigger mystery is how you fit it all in. To suggest you lead a full life would be an understatement: A poem a day plus the support you give to others here, croquet, choir, men\'s group - I\'m sure I\'ve forgotten something....

Oh that no good Fifi..... she was a pooey poodle when i encountered her. Not to be trusted on yer lap, she\'d nibble ya buttons off and if ya chastised her there\'d be a dampness with it\'s regrettable lingering dog-pee uniqueness.
Much rather Col Mustard the bulldog who slept in the Cellar by the Lead Pipes.... you knew where you were with him.

Doggerel Dave said:

Well at least it wasn\'t \'My Way\', Andy....
But beyond that , since oldsters have stuffed life , the climate, the whole damn thing up, It\'s high time another generation had a go....Much more complicated than that, I know - but tonight that\'s where I\'m leaving it.
It is a good write, too...

Nobody writes \'em like you do though Andy.
Have you decided on an epitaph? My ex told me a couple of years back that she wanted a certain song to be played at her funeral \"be cool\" by Joni Mitchell. I am envious of her choice. Joni\'s lyrics are to die for.
As a young man, waiting for dead man\'s shoes job promotion wasn\'t good enough for me and took me onto adventures where i swiftly rose to my own level of incompetence. Where I comfortably remain .... I know my place LOL

Shark Cloud.
L. B. Mek said:

lots of sharks around us, at all times
some symbolic
most, very real
but sharks are attracted to weakness, to blood..
so its important, we strive to keep ourselves safe, at all times
we shouldn\'t rely on the sympathy of others,
but still offer sympathy to others when we can,
that\'s the only, we get a shot
at looking up and admiring the blue sky\'s, in our lives
even, if only once in a while...
(a wonderfully emotive quality to your poem today, inspired me to scribble a little reply, thanks Andy
hope you have a great weekend)

yes clouds can have many faces that change with the breeze or wind - a good metaphor ending in a brilliant last line - thanks too dear Andy for the number I had not heard in years - Paul still had the appeal of perfect tone and audible linguistics..

Shark Cloud.
dusk arising said:

On a blue sky day with cotton wool clouds, where do the clouds go?

Clouds really enhance the visual effects of any landscape/seascape effecting our inner feelings and how we relate to the world around us at that time.
A shark is an analogy which got me thinking.

Electric cars bug me at the moment Andy. It\'s so fkkn middle class. You need a driveway to charge the damn thing up overnight..... If u live in terraced housing and/or only have on street parking (how many millions of car owners have to rely on \'on street parking\') - how you going to charge your car up overnight when it\'s parked round the corner etc.

I love your poem and the mind boggles at wind powered carrier (blown out of the water by a nuclear sub, having been becalmed for months at sea ).

Fishermens Friends the lozenge. Always reminds me of when the very gay Julian Clary\'s voice suddenly became very hoarse and he quipped \" I think i shall have to go into the wings and suck a fishermans friend\".

that created the economy belts, that still govern most trade relations today...
