Passing Lane Only

Some naughty drivers are speeding, with less traffic on the roads. I reported a couple of bus drivers. Can\'t have people being thrown off buses - by braking hard, I mean.
Some are sneaky - drive off before you sit down, then they laugh up their sleeve if you fall over! heehee. It\'s awful.
Most are OK though. At least we still have public transport going.

Day Thirty-Six

Well, we\'ve taken (or some churches have) to partaking at a distance. Call up an online Eucharist Service, and be ready with bread and wine/juice at home.
It\'s all we can do for now!

The banana leaves, by the way, would have been the natural alternative to the toilet paper, or ‘The Sun’ for that matter, the toilet paper alternative that you just suggested. 🤣🤣😞

His Kind of Repentance
orchidee said:

Yes, a fair write Gary, without being \'hell-fire and brimstone\'. (What is brimstone? oops!).
Certainly aspects, areas of our lives where repentance may be needed, at this crisis season, and any season.
I read a book by Metropolitan Anthony Booth - bit deep! (Your double?!). But he brings out that prayer of requesting mercy. The blind man did not pray \'Heal me\', though he sought that too.

Oh lol - if seeing humorous side of this.
Use [insert name of trashiest newspaper in your country] instead. In UK, it could be \'The Sun\' newspaper.
And it\'s a diet of bamboo leaves for you now then?!

Through Her Eyes

A fine write Gary.
Ain\'t come across many (or any?) air conditioned churches in U.K. I\'m getting old. One of my first considerations, though not that spiritual, if going to a church is \'will it be warm enough - the building; well, the people too?!\'
It sure is a bit of self-denial if sitting though services in chilly buildings. I don\'t take up my \'cross\' sometimes - I go elsewhere warmer. Tut tut! But it\'s not wise to do. One cannot focus, getting chillier by the minute, then actually feeling ill with it.

Ungrateful Son
orchidee said:

It\'s certainly a \'Lent feeling\', the world over. 40 days of it for Jesus, plus miserable temptings from the evil one. Would we have given up, turned the stones into bread, etc? Yet all in God\'s overall purposes. \'Soon shatter Satan under our feet\' was a line of a prayer in an Anglican/Protestant book.

White Washed Sepulcher
orchidee said:

A nice write Gary. I thought it was gonna be a \'hell-fire\' theme of a poem, where Jesus denounces religious leaders of his day: \'White washed sepulchres\'.
Erm, I (in UK) did not see any cattle grazing - swans, geese, and ducks took over some fields, thinking they are lakes in the flooding in some areas.

That\'ll teach \'em, if they judge by outward appearance, if you turn up in one of those at church!
Don\'t ya dare cough, or hardly breathe, in some places, where it says \'silence\' in the service! Then again, are some them alive in there even? Doh!

A good Haiku Gary. I\'m not into asking Saints to pray for us, though it is in some Anglo-Catholic Churches too.

Gary Edward Geraci said:

Thanks Orchidee and I had a good “singing line” about a fellow who believed that he could sing even though no one else shared that sentiment with him. But I forgot the line. Then it dawned on me that I might be sharing the same boat with this fellow.

Also - in one way we all Christians win the prize, by God\'s grace. I suppose we are competing, but not against one another. Then we would be envying, and probably some of the other sins too, in trying to get the prize!

Your Inheritance Won
orchidee said:

A fine write Gary. I\'ve not though much about an \'order of sins\'. Though of course to murder someone is worse than telling a little lie, for example.
They say I commit murder - of songs that is, when I sing to them! It can be forgiven, but never forgotten, once heard (so I say). heehee.

Thanks Orchidee - I too believe that the inhabitants of Heaven (I hope you and I are on the list my friend - God knows we’re trying to correspond to His grace) will continue to experience a variety of God’s creatures including dogs. And after the resurrection of our physical bodies, now glorified, blue-eyes too.
