hi shannon , i think some people can be careless in their words towards other people , there is a way to go about things and it seems his/ her way was kind of wrong ... its ok to be honest but brutal honesty can hurt like hell. it sounds like you are a sensitive person who was hurt by somebody who lacks a bit of consideration towards your feelings .. the knife digging deep into your back shows how much pain this person caused you , i love the line referring to a swallowed piece of art , that is quite an interesting and unique line i like how you mentioned memoriees being tainted. i really do like this .. you know, you express very well the pain this person caused you and how his brutal honesty deeply hurt you .. sorry
