Endings create opportunities for new beginnings. Always be positive about your future. Treat the past as your seat of learning. Nice writing.

you learn from many things in life which maybe the right thing for you. when you wrote \'stinging like a ray\' I thought to myself now that\'s a powerful statement because sting rays can be deadly so you know now not to go near a stingray. you must learn by your mistakes and if being in pain caused by your heart then you need to move away from it. I would hate to see you suffer anymore. that\'s why I said what I said. good luck and I love the way you write by the way. it\'s great.

Beautifully expressed. My favorite lines were
“just seeing your face
Turns me to ashes
In the laughter of your flames”
Very nice piece. May you find true love that won’t cause this pain. Thanks for sharing

Yes, this is so beautiful. I could never get to know any one of my grandparents. I miss them just by hearing the family stories. Thanks for writing this. So touching

Thank you Shannon for a very tender and moving poem. You touched on something that affects many people with a loved one with dementia. Unfortunately it happens more and more.

What a beautiful piece. Is it my imagination - is there a greater appreciation of family these days? It\'s certainly so if this site is anything to go by.

There\'s a demon within us all. Whether to befriend them, use them, fear them, is all up to the individual. Good poetry.

Great!

We weep for the willow which never sheds a tear
We smile for the memories we hold dear
It is only when we sin it becomes clear
That a Judeo-Christian life can be one of fear

So put what lurks under the bed
Out of your head
For soon they will come and take you for dead
Dead, dead and gone and another heart will beat on
To occupy your space but never to take your place
In this world of words left can be right
And sunrise could just be night

Forget it all and hear the call of your youth
That I see in your image in all truth
For those who write are never really home
And an author is forever alone

BEAUTIFUL LOVE POEM SHANNON ~ JUST BEAUTIFUL ! I was 17 ~ 17 years ago at the turn of the Century 20th to the 21st anything was possible and all our HEARTS were THIRSTY for LOVE ~ Oh yes I remember it well ~ as if it were Yesterday. I resonated with every nuance in you perfect Poem. In some ways the 21 st C has been a bit of a disappointment (911 ~ Brexit ~ Global Warming etc) perhaps that is because I\'m 34 and no longer see the World through rose tinted 17 year old vision. I work with Young People (17 ~ 25) and I thank GOD that (despite everything) they are all up for it and optimistic enough about the future to love and fall in love ! So SHANNON ~ you ~ and your Peers ~ continue to feed your Thirsty Hearts and I\'ll do the worrying for you ~ AMEN Hugs BRIAN XX
