And next to hope I would place the need (for many of us) to have a companion in life. Loneliness I guess more often than not goes hand in hand with hope. A very telling write.

Good poem and a powerful last line, Fred! A home run! I love it when a poem has a killer ending such as this.

Its a good thing to have hope in your life but a bad thing if hope becomes your life. There are many things us hopefuls can do as well as hope. Like following your example of excellent writing.

You are cute asking those question. I could see a little boy inside you asking those question. I would say that our heart has a way of its on. All we have to do is listen and follow to it. Thanks for this beautiful thought.

In the final analysis, what else is there to life but love? It is expansive and infinite, as are we. Love this thoughtful and thought-provoking poem, Fred!

Dance to the beat of my drum * heartbeat* well i love this write. So there is more love. Love has no limits. The heart sometimes forgets because the mind likes to fight with the heart and trick it through life. But the heart- to infinity and beyond is that hearts love 💓

Take heart FRED ~ in my experience HEART SPACE is infinite as we still grieve for those killed in LONDON ~ BIRMINGHAM ~ London High Rise ~ Iraq etc etc. GOD is LOVE and his LOVE is infinite ~ We are created in God\'s likeness ~ a priori our HEART SPACE is also infinite ! So keep you Heart open to the whole World ~ BRIAN

Thanks so much for your comment Fay, I was playing around a little bit here. I know we are saying that love comes from the heart, but the heart is just a muscle. The mind is probably more accurate!

Intriguing thoughts here regarding heart-space my friend - - real love comes from the heart and love cannot die so the final stanza says it for me - \" ever expanding with no limits\" oh what a mystery is the human heart. Excellent read Fred.

THANKS FRED ~ For SHARING ~ an interesting Poem and for RAISING (in our minds) some interesting questions. I am a BIOCHEMIST and there is a false assumption that \"If the conditions were right ~ anywhere in the Universe ~ LIFE would arise spontaneously\". A priori because the Universe is so vast there must be some Parallel Earth-like Planets out there inhabited by Intelligent Beings ~ just like us ! Of course this is all Science Fiction and there is no evidence that Life arose spontaneously on Earth and the Theory of Evolution that flows from that (to explain the myriad Species on Planet Earth) is also still A THEORY 158 years later. Have you considered the complexity of Life on Earth with its complex food chains & webs and the Mineral Cycles (water ~ carbon ~ oxygen ~ nitrogen) why our planet has so much water and an atmosphere of Oxygen (21%) and Nitrogen (78%) ~ and an ambient temperature which is still only 16C and a super moon etc etc ~ A LIVING PLANET ! Now look at our lifeless neighbours MARS & VENUS and ask yourself why ? Also observe that the other Planets in the Solar System are even less habitable ~ if we mess up Planet Earth ~ THERE IS NOWHERE ELSE TO GO ! This is why I post so many Poems about CONSERVATION ! I have studied Science since I was TEN (23 years ago !) and the only Truth I find about the origin of the Universe ~ The Solar System ~ Planet earth and Life on Earth etc is in the BIBLE the Word of God ! the first verse states \"In the beginning ~ GOD created the Heavens and the Earth etc etc\" Genesis 1 v 1. Even atheistic Scientists admit ~ that that explanation (God did it !) is just as viable as anything they have to offer ! I rest my case. What\'s your explanation ? Yours BRIAN

Thanks for this beautiful write. I like to think that we are all connected through this ruge universe and I always like to feel that connection before going to sleep. Thinking this way I never feel lonely.

I like your style here. Drawn me into your thoughts there and bigger questions, like - do those beings share our spiritual nature. Every civilization on earth has had a spiritual good and bad ethic etc. It\'s those last two lines.
