I agree with every word Fred and feel very lucky that in my life, a life as long as yours, I have been able to be part of that wonderful life.

To Him who carries the Cross

A poignant write Fred. In Christianity, though, yes, it is a \'religion\', there is the theme of us needing be to saved from our sins.
Then Jesus says to His disciples (Christian believers) \'IF any one will follow me, let him/her take up their cross daily\'. So there\'s no forcing in it, with that \'if\'.
From a non-religious view, we could call the current situations \'our heavy cross to bear\', though not with the same meaning as in a religious sense - if you see what I mean.

Getting Older

Mahalo for your comment! Yes it is nice here, especially if you enjoy looking at the ladies in shorts, or bikinis. I do not consider myself a dirty old man, I just enjoy beauty, be it in nature, a painting, or a beautiful woman.

Kinda cruel but witty, and wit is remembered long after the truth is forgotten. Keep up the good work, mon général!

Powerful message here Fred and one which makes lots of sense - - when no longer around let people make what they may of our life but may they not feel the need to expound a lie.

Couldnt agree me. Chop my carcass up and feed it to the crows. Let people grieve in their own way if they want ill have none of that nonsense. No way. Not over my dead body.

You reminded me of what they will say at my eulogy, re: my singing: \'Goodbye, and good riddance; Now, silence is golden!\' (heehee).

Oh, this sends quite a powerful message. Sometimes I think those sort of things are more for the comfort of those left behind than an actual reflection of the person who passed away. Well expressed nonetheless!

I keep meaning to do all these things \'today\', but when I get round to them, it\'s \'tomorrow\'. Strange that! lol.

A fantastic orchestration of words here Fred - - loved the arrangementt with repeat of mantras like Fear is only for the fearless \" and \"Hope is only for the hopeless\"- - shall remember them both and ponder their truth. Great read on Today.

It\'s all in ones outlook and mood i guess because both of these opposing days have their place in my life. Though i\'m pleased to relate to the positive more readily.

Nicely written opposites. Both could be applicable to the same day or event.

Your last line begs my response. I\'m passionate but revelling in love unfortunately evades me currently so i revel in the occasional outpouring of poetry.

What Poetry is All About
Goldfinch60 said:

Indeed Fred, what is poetry about. Yes there are rules for specific types of poetry but all poetry comes from the heart and the heart does not follow any rules. Our words are feelings onto paper and rules are not necessary.
Good thoughtful write.

What Poetry is All About
dusk arising said:

Wow Fred, there\'s a lot in there of my spilled emotion whilst i write.

Recently i was told by a young man what poetry was all about because he had been taught the facts he recounted by a published poet.

Oh go away with your lecturing script i thought for my poetry is whatever pours out from my soul.

One day i may publish online and be damned if i care what you think yet another day dawns to find me trying to sculpt a finery of words seeking praise from those i respect.

Do I understand what is poetry about... i don\'t know if i do.... i\'m just caught up in it\'s spell.
