A strange and sad place rises from your poignant description today Nev - - named and shamed these conditions where yesterday means more than tomorrow and no energy to sway away from a perceived culture. The read leaves food for much thought on how to force change.......... x

Had me a second read of this telling love- write Nev and found it this time even deeper in its unique use of perception. The second stanza is methinks a masterpiece - - - - Saved now and in my faves.

Familiar strangers can be so meaningful that they can soon become dear friends or even more. Good words Neville.

Was it you who wrote prince Phillips proposal to Elizabeth.

So formal. A tad stand offish. The sort of thing a very timid upper class twit might phrase in desperation in an attempt to gain marriage before his 40th birthday perhaps.

Verily i begst of thee, wilt thou lay with me this morrow lest we part yet unfamiliar of pleasures betwixt bed linen.

Familiar strangers with benefits perhaps?

Oh yes, a wicked reminder upon beard and fingers. Such a pleasurable reminisce in an empty bed.

Though it did bring to mind the first time i ate a sizeable portion of strong dope cake and went to bed stoned only to wake equally stoned the next morning. A truly glorious feeling.

Only to be outclassed by the runcible spooning of course.
