Might She by Chance be a Witch
Laura🌻 said:
Neville,
Not a witch
she’ll prove to be...
But only to thee!
Only to thee...
my dear sir!
You’ve been bewitched...
Yes, indeed...
Bewitched you are...
My dear sir!
Don’t you see that onto thee
SHE HAS CAST A SPELL!
Yes, a SPELL...
My dear sir!
I truly enjoyed your poem!
A bewitching read...
to say the least!
Yes, indeed!

Bewitched by her femininity you have been sir! And such a wonderful spell to fall beneath, and to rise beneath, each again and again.
One such told me women disliked her though i found her quite exciting. Never a broom nor housework found her, there must have been magic afoot.
An lovely entertaining read today which took me places of yesteryear.

What We Got

Thought provoking.
At first I read this like a person comparing himself to another, differing perspectives that cannot be reconciled. Though the I seemed supreme. The I seemed worthy. The I had something to lose.
Then I read it like a conversation between self and societal norms and judgements. How society tries to bend people to fit preconceived ideas and notions, until individuation is gone and then there is nothing left of the self.
Then of course I thought of two inner voice fighting amongst themselves.
Thought-provoking.

Neville,
Look at both sides of the coin and then flip it!
After all is said and done,
you “have nothing left to lose” and she “will still want” to hold on to you...
just like holding on to a treasured and rare gold coin!
A fine write which I enjoyed reading!
Thank you for sharing your poetic pen!
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Yes, glad is all well now. We might never know what some folk have been through. We had special prayers for a couple of church members. But they \'departed\'. Some say there is healing in that - relief from pain, etc. I might have supported them more, but did not know them too closely.

Super sensitive write - I can empathise - My wife had kidney cancer 7 years ago and had to have a kidney removed - the surgery was touch and go but she pulled through and is still clear. She has a 14ins scar but I love it - it means she is still with me. Thanks for posting this Neville.

Neville,
I love your “scribble”!
A beautiful and loving poem for your wife!
Glad the tumour is gone! Scars are an important. They reminds us to hold dear the ones we love!
The scar is there and your love is stronger than ever!
Exquisite!

Excellent story and excellent composition.
Each line a thrill leading to the next line.
If you wrote that autobiography Fay encourages, and in this style, it would be \'un-put-downable\'.

Strange frame of mind comes thru your words. Is it one of defeat? Is it giving up? I really hope not.
Whilst moods can lower us into pits of hopelessness and despair they are transient. The world with all it\'s cancers is still a beautiful stage on which we fluff our lines and play to a sceptical front row - but now and again the applause is resounding.
