Good write PB. All sizes and types of fish are needed!
Yes, sometimes meeting \'targets\' can become the all-important thing. Then it just spoils things - whether targets in employment, personal life, or whatever.
My target, if you call it that, is to sing. I not given up after 47,595 lessons! But there\'s no hope of improvement for me. heeehee.

Funny it\'s so hard to explain why nothing is more human, more essential, more healing, more universal than poetry. Next time someone says they don\'t get poetry, I may refer them to you!

Cancer, Why?
dusk arising said:

Cancer will inspire you to write much more now that it has entered your life. I know it did for me last year.

Going off subject of poetry i must pass on to you how important it is for you, those around you and most especially your father to be positive throughout his treatments. Cancer takes many but it is not the death sentence it used to be. I underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy last year because i was inoperable. Though the treatments were devastating and made me very ill, i survived and subsequent scans showed no trace. It has been clinically proven that a positive mindset aids recovery, if you google for it you\'ll find the facts.
Be strong, be positive, be survivors!

Write more, this subject needs more airing so that it comes out of the dark cupboard of fear.

Cancer, Why?
Neville said:

Ah\' the 64 billion dollar question.. unfortunately, the answer is presently uncertain.. the trick is, to keep searching for it and never give up in that particular quest until there is a cure..

I understand your shock, anger and associated anxieties only too well my friend..

What is a poet?
Accidental Poet said:

My ex-best friend would smirk with a slight shake of his head, and I could sense his attitude towards writing poetry was not something a \"real guy\" does. To him, real guys play sports, race cars, talk tough and brag about all the girls they\'ve had. Did I mention he\'s my ex-best friend? ; )
Great write PB.

End of Times?
orchidee said:

One aspect of this could be Old Testament Book of Judges - The people sinned; called to God for help; He gave them leaders to rescue them; then they forgot Him again and sinned - and so on, in a circle.
Not that He is a \'hellfire and damnation\' God, but Jesus warns us of plagues, pestilences, famines, etc, as signs of the end. Though those things may not mean the actual end of the world.

End of Times?
Goldfinch60 said:

So true but it is also bring out the good in many people. Being retired I have had many notes through the door, ;phone calls and emails from friends and acquaintances asking if I need any help at all. I don\'t as all is well but it shows the goodness of people in these strange times.

He he he SNAP! I wrote on the same theme today...please have a look at my \'global warning\' today.

Do we deserve such a beautiful planet? Our home?

Well i don\'t believe god is the \'Mr Nice Guy and our saviour\' bit at all..... ask anyone who prayed and then was confronted with disaster and deaths.
