Freedom #2
Morwenna said:

Free from your conscience perhaps. But not from whoever/whatever makes you upset/angry/indignant/frustrated/sad. And anyway, just write it - you don\'t need to publish it. I find it very therapeutic when any of the above. It a great thought-provoking stanza.

Excellent Saxon. I\'d never have though of writing about how barren i feel when my inspiration has drifted from me.
You have inspired me here though. And right now i have thoughts of penning my loss though I have to admit inspiration rose again in me this morning.
I find an amazing lift of spirit once i have been seduced by inspiration and produced a piece - I\'m sure it must be similar for you and all us poets.
Great work, I\'m going to indulge in a re-read now.

It’s difficult when we feel we cannot write , or are lost and don’t even know what to write about . Sometimes a picture can inspire me to write ,

I look around me wandering if there’s anything around me I can write about .

I’m sure youl feel able to write soon .. hope so )

Not A Royalist Poem
Doggerel Dave said:

As a portrait of the ambivalence felt by (I hope) many re Her Maj and royalty generally all tied up in engaging verse this would be hard to beat.
Many thanks Sax.
PS: why are you proud of your country? Did you ask to be born a Brit? 😊

Erm, you\'ve not reduced it to something I read: \'A couple of days off, for an old lady who has ruled the country a long time, and cost us millions!\'
Doh! Just when I got into the royal genre.

Not A Royalist Poem
dusk arising said:

Here here. Gawd knows what sexual misadventures the past of royalty hides for there was a time when such matters were hushed away. I\'m sat watching the preparation for the trooping of the colours on TV as I write this. I have memories of being there on Horseguards as a very young child at least twice watching it actually happen. No nation has a pagentry which can compare to ours on such occasions. Proud? Yes.

I googled murmuration and have added it to my notebook of words to remember. I love your description of animals in their natural state; groups, herds, flocks, functioning as one for the safety and benefit of the whole. Animals that prey on other animals, only do so to survive. Humans are the only animals I know of who kill for sport, or gain, or revenge. I much prefer your wonderful portrait of animal life. Great Write!

Good poem )) I think even those animals in the wild hunting for other animals .. they are only doing what they need to do to survive and are not bad . But some people are just unkind and there’s no need for it , really . I like your writing

Last Journey?
Rocky Lagou said:

I love how the title is a question, because this really does feel like \"conclusion\" and \"beginning.\" Those final lines: \"Alive and free\" truly captures the essence of this piece. I adore everything about it, I can also relate to this \"bobbing\" up and down through tides \"familiar but unknown.\" Wonderful.

\'here I drift immersed in this comfort
Womb like,\'
Brilliant imagery, dear Poet
that metaphorically tattoos itself
to our very, sense of self...
(never imagined the River Styx
portrayed, so gracefully
who knows
maybe Charon, just shepherds us
from one life, to the next
and all we know in betwixt
those realities
is that gentle womb, as safe harbour
for our unbreathing, heartbeats
of wonder...)

But, heehee, don\'t the rivers go back to where they came from, in a sort of circular route - river to sea to clouds to rain to fall in rivers, and so on. Is it same water that falls in the same river? How would we know?! lol.
It\'ll be my last journey will be on the No.11 bus. It\'s being disbanded next week. Doh!
