A baited trap of flowers
L. B. Mek said:
\'When I offered a bed of roses
I didn\'t mention the thorns\'
these words hit home, dear Poet
(I bought gardening gloves
for my heart, but still
it never seems to be enough
to keep the shrapnel
of belated regret from clustering
my mind and stifling
my lungs, capacity to hope...)
whatever side of blame we seat
we\'re each left contemplating
our what if\'s..

Cave in
L. B. Mek said:
ill-fated nightmares as reality
past mistakes repeatedly casually
justice ears deaf to our pleas
with lungs stunted by fear, we dare
to seek a reasoning, a grasp
asking why that we chose to intrust
with our cave\'s of hope
seems to be incapable of staying
by our side, without setting off
those land mines
we keep hidden, deep
within those singed corridors
of our heart..
(a great write dear Poet
forgive me
I couldn\'t help but try
and scribble a little poetic reply)

Nature\'s servitude (a fable)
L. B. Mek said:
\'Far below the misty wisps of the broken billowing tide,
a slow rolling breaker, spreads its whitewash of light\'
Brilliant!
(astounding poetic ambition, dear Poet
what hard earned skill and patience you showcase
just see for yourself
how your writing favourably compares
to the master himself:)
\'Her azure veins, her alabaster skin,
Her coral lips, her snow-white dimpled chin.
As the grim lion fawneth o’er his prey
Sharp hunger by the conquest satisfied,
So o’er this sleeping soul doth Tarquin stay,
His rage of lust by gazing qualified;
Slacked, not suppressed; for, standing by her side,
His eye, which late this mutiny restrains,
Unto a greater uproar tempts his veins.
And they, like straggling slaves for pillage fighting,
Obdurate vassals fell exploits effecting.
In bloody death and ravishment delighting,
Nor children’s tears nor mothers’ groans respecting,
Swell in their pride, the onset still expecting.
Anon his beating heart, alarum striking,
Gives the hot charge and bids them do their liking.
His drumming heart cheers up his burning eye,
His eye commends the leading to his hand;
His hand, as proud of such a dignity,
Smoking with pride, marched on to make his stand
On her bare breast, the heart of all her land,
Whose ranks of blue veins, as his hand did scale,
Left their round turrets destitute and pale.
They, mustering to the quiet cabinet
Where their dear governess and lady lies,
Do tell her she is dreadfully beset
And fright her with confusion of their cries.
She, much amazed, breaks ope her locked-up eyes,
Who, peeping forth this tumult to behold,
Are by his flaming torch dimmed and controlled.
Imagine her as one in dead of night
From forth dull sleep by dreadful fancy waking,\'

This is such a beautiful love poem dear friend, and the script serves to enhance every line. You have me swooning, just thinking to being loved in such a way. Romance is very much alive and well!

So eloquently written dear friend, in effortless, flowing rhyme from line to line. I love the way you have addressed each beloved poet in terms of such endearment, and humility. Your modesty does you justice, but your talent can\'t help but shine forth. This is truly a fav!

well, science
in its purest form
is (like philosophy)
a, most humble
aspect of our species,
where we readily admit
we know nothing at all
and unchain our innate
inquisitive traits
(well then
if we\'re admitting
we don\'t know, what is
or what works, best
why not make a chain necklace
with a four leaf clover
and offer it to our lover
and then maybe we tattoo
a few rabbit foots
and horse shoes
all over us, you know
just in case, something
work to our favour..)
lol
a deeply meaningful concept
you\'ve introduced for our
contemplation treat, thank you!
oh wise Poet
a fun read as well, cheers 🍻

Truth a ghostly, unfathomable game\'
\'A single dimension, the rest an illusion\'
\'intuition evaporated into the turmoil of one\'s mind\'

to that innate, fallible dichotomy
in selfhood\'s, mirages
we, who curate what to identify
as truth
believing our eyes, asserting dominance
on existence
while witnessing a millennium old spec of light
as the stars we\'re afforded in life)
