I like how jovial a tone you chose
almost sing sing in fluidity of rhythm
showcasing, how we can utilise
that menace in our lives
to fuel our artistry\'s insightful fun

Treaty Words
Bella Shepard said:
You have chosen a wonderful sketch to accompany this poem. I so often think that our indigenous peoples posessed the true relationship of human beings to the natural world. Our greed for territory led to the systematic removal and eradication of these peoples, causing untold grief and suffering. It is our shame. Progress at the expense of our world? As always you give us much food for thought, and conscience. Thank you dear poet!

Treaty Words

Very neat, Soren.
Now, I tried to trace the quoted lines back, but Prof Google (not for the first time) left me in a state of dissatisfaction and confusion.
Have you got a quick clean link to the treaty between presumably Canadian settlers and the indigenous population?
This is not just willful curiosity - at this moment a heavy debate is going on in Oz re the merits of a voice v treaty in our relationship with our own First Nations people.
I hope this hasn\'t detracted from your adroit piece which has much to say.

A vivid word portrait of a friend of yours, Soren? Colourful and engaging in a disturbing kind of way.
Now I\'ve encountered this gentleman, I shall certainly me moving rapidly away in the other direction....

Sorely tempted to leave this one completely alone Soren, as it covered so adequately the urge by men to build giant erections.....
BTW: Found my school ruler, looked at it and put it at the bottom of my bottom desk drawer.... A well writ piece of fun.

the s sounds to your rhyme
mimic the crawl of a snake

About two thirds, I think.
You are a serial lister aren\'t you? (Killer \'About Me\', BTW) and, I have to say, none the worse for that . Densely packed with memories, thoughts and questions for me. And a tribute too the amount of work which goes into your pieces.
Many thanks Soren.

What I\'m not
L. B. Mek said:
I really like distilled realism
delivered with a spoonful of brevity
refreshing to read nuanced veracity
that hasn\'t been muddied..
reads like a drop of freshwater
clear, emotions
perceived/contemplated
through that microscope of Time..
A great shorty dear Poet
(so many relationships begin
with assumptions
of how the other person can
in time, become
the person we\'re actually looking for
when, its more likely
in waiting/manipulating
for that person to change
we\'re adding a toxic element
to both our lives and forsaking
what chance the relationship
ever had to succeed...)

When reading your brilliant words
I couldn\'t help but be reminded
of Walt Whitman\'s poignant words:
\'I depart as air, I shake my white locks at the runaway sun,
I effuse my flesh in eddies, and drift it in lacy jags.
I bequeath myself to the dirt to grow from the grass I love,
If you want me again look for me under your boot-soles.\'
