Good reminder, Soren. the way I interpret this final conclusion of yours sees nature abused beyond repair.
Would you believe the debate is now turning, anxiety expressed at declining birthrates......on an overcrowded planet; that the developed countries are still importing people in order to sustain \'growth\'?

Nice one Soren. You have reached the right conclusion for me here -.it either moves me or it doesn\'t.
First line I\'d take a smattering of an exception to as I have a bit of an allergy to too many rules. I\'d prefer schools with reference to art, with many truants!!

The scent of a dream

\"The scent of a dream\", haunting and beautiful, lingering as dreams so often are. I feel such longing in this poem, with the tear and the memory. Such a lovely write dear friend.

In rust and dust we must trust
L. B. Mek said:

\'ashes to ashes, dust to dust
our footprints
harvesting our Time on earth\'
and on
that cycle of life
we need but find that one more
step, breath, blink
till, its all dreams as our essence
of unfathomable, existence
and on
(love this, dear Poet)

(worse yet, we\'ve devolved
even further
now we\'re waging activist wars
over ideologies
as spineless in worth, as a gust of wind
where you see the same faces
on either side of the picket fences

@# trending, majority...)
\'Or would you do it simply out of love?
Would you hear the pleading of a baby bird fallen?
Are you too busy to hear a fly in distress callin?\'
these questions are so indicative
of our society devolving
into a cesspool of indifference...
again, dear Poet
a great read, and a much needed message!
I read and will try to heed
thank you

such a thorough and in-depth, overview commentary
of our societal
issues and wasted potential
a great write!
forgive me dear Poet
I read your words and just began to type another instinctive reply
thank you for inspiring me yet again
(In striving to split atom\'s
into bitesize certainties
we negated, to decipher
and cherish, those traits
that allowed us to evolve
from cave dweller\'s
to modernity\'s
high-rise buildings and aspirations...
our evolutionary progress
need not necessitate, we eliminate
all that we\'ve accumulated, to date
why not write algorithm\'s
that perpetuate those finer traits
and virtues of our human race
why must we only utilise them
for a binary limited, profiteering
capitalist perspective
we, write the software
so let us free ourselves from
programming code, dependant
on boom n bust
\'if\' loops
invest, in a greater scope
for our societal hopes
anchored upon our intuitive kindness\'
evolutionary, civility
why not live like we dream
striving for that infinitely, greater
than settling
for the ease of that hollow, better...)

This poem strikes at the heart of who we are as human beings. The question you pose is one of self sacrifice, a question we would so often rather not have to answer. Each time we refuse, or look the other way we are diminished as a whole, and as your eloquent words say \"we will forever and always be at war\". It is a fav, for we need constant reminding of what we could and should be. I find this a very powerful write dear friend.

I really liked this poem. A lot of my poetry rhymes also and tries to remain simple but thoughtful and hopefully wise. I think you need to further explore the ideas expressed here. Do you think there is hope for us? The cause of war that is near the end of the poem is a powerful statement. The struggle to be a \"winner\" and the inclination to fight are, I think, like you indicate are very closely related. Very good and thoughtful work.

Your words speak of what I see too often in the world these days. Pride in rigidity, unwillingness to listen and rejection of truth when it challenges preconceived ideas. I suppose only time will tell if we can somehow bridge the gaps, chasms that we are creating in our society. Thank your for this deeply insightful write dear friend. Keep us thinking!

We often get into a mental rut when it comes to ourselves and we are none the wiser. It is said that there is wisdom in listening to outside opinions for consideration. An awesome way to start the mind this new year. Thanks Soren.
