This is absolutely wonderful! You describe your acne..each one like a star. (I wouldn\'t have described it that way at your age!) But it is fitting. And remember, it goes away! Your depression, you highlighted FREEDOM and PRIDE! Good for you! And I love that you made the ending a little handcrafted paradise. I wrote a poem on anxiety yesterday, hardly the piece you have here. Great job Rocky!

Fantastic poem for hope Rocky. And the message comes through loud and clear. Hope never diminishes in strength or purpose. 😉

Impressive penning Rocky this must have taken you an age.
Just an aside I am looking forward to hell as they say hell has no fury like a woman scorned and my fear is that there may be a few scorned women in heaven that passed my way. So hell looks the better of the two options...lol

i like that the last line in each stanza reflects the outcome you mention at the end. the positive. the topics you chose for each stanza are interesting as well and i like that by describing things we can\'t control, you emphasize what we have control over: our attitude.
i also am most creative at night. it is so beautiful when thoughts come to you like fireflies, keeping you awake.

Nice one- Rocky,we must always love ourselves before we can love others
I like to think that us poets breathe life into mere words, giving them meaning

Great work here Rocky. I really love the last line,it’s so refreshing. I’m getting sick of the old “When life gives you lemon’s” scchpeel. When life gives you lemons,…squirt life in the eyes with it😂cheers 🍻🍀🕊🌞

A great message. If you can accept yourself with all your strong points and defects, changing them as you can you are better off than most . Wonderful

A wonderful read! I love the last line, words to live by. There is something magical in that middle of the night, or early morning inspiration.

Trust Not Them (Villanelle)
bellflower said:

Good villanelle composition with reflection on self, this is a worthy thing to be pondered about. We all fall in trap of this social approval and social acceptance trap....but we need to listen to ourselves and care ourselves first then comes the society. Well composed.

I would indeed be lying if I said this was not magic .. but like Christina8 has already indicated, time is against me .. so at the moment I am not in a position to delve too far beneath the surface ink you have so splendidly laid before us .. I do however, envisage returning here from time to time to further my understanding and appreciation .... I also note your proposed leave of absence Rocky, so I hope your time away from here is a happy one and filled with inspiration my friend ......... Neville

This is simply a masterpiece, but to analyze it would take more time than I have, sadly. From what I\'ve read you are a genius with a killer vocabulary! Awesome poem so far but I\'m not finished. I put it in my favorites to enjoy later! Great job Rocky!

Splendid dear Rocky…
A beautiful depiction
An engaging imagery
Wedding my thoughts with geography
As I ventured across the layers of air
I found myself flying in the air
Yet a music kept playing in mind
Thanks to your poetry, I could remember the lines
Demi lovata’s song “ skyscraper”
Truly wonderful and engaging read dear Rocky
And the last lines just hooked me
“ And with every breath we take,

And with every incoming breeze

We embrace the past,

And I welcome – the overture and the decline.”
Telling me to let go of the fallen yesterday and rise with today
