What a metaphor here. Well set up and worked out it portrays the present day situation very well. Even the point of view is metaphorical and the narrator breaks the forth wall talking to the reader. Lovely

Hmm, \"...that Thou art mindful of him--\" interesting and rather provocative, loaded subtly with snatches like the title is, rendered almost like a tease, yet not, intriguing. Fascinating. Thank you very much for sharing.

You are talking a million dollars here I hope (I’m no good with figures after I’ve taken my shoes and socks off…)
Because all I know is that in good old Sydney town even modest dwellings in most parts are selling north of the million. In my inner west ‘burb a normal two bedroom goes for one and a half. (not me – I moved into my cupboard over twenty years ago having reached a certain age).
People nailed in place for life.

Cheeky Missy said:

Well, thank you for proving superbly eloquent in describing the subtle reality lurking just in sight yet unseen whileas we trot toward the end of the end. \"....this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the LORD God of hosts.\" (Is 22:14b) What I\'ve been mulling is how to avoid that condemnation seeing I\'ve a penchant for fun.
Excellently rendered with a truly haunting poignancy.
Thank you for sharing.
