Wonderfully penned dear Teddy. That opening stanza touches the heart of the reader. It sums up deep loss so well. Grief hits so hard and birdsong can magnify the emptiness ten fold.

Dear Teddy, you have been inspired you to write something truly incredible. You describe beautifully the loss, the sadness, and then the gift of love to be remembered and cherished. A work of art and remembrance for one so dear.

Love Letter

For me this poem harkens back to a time when love letters were written by hand, thought going into every ink stroke, then slowly folded and slipped into the waiting envelope to be licked and sealed, and the stamp licked as well. This is so simply elegant dear Teddy.
The picture a perfect compliment to this little gem!

Wow! I\'d say \"Somewhere Over The Rainbow\" move over, you\'ve just been eclipsed. This has such a beautiful bedtime, fairy tale feel to it, I want to curl up and dream. Precious, priceless!

A really trippy poem, Teddy. I love it. It reminds me of a 1960s song, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, or White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane.

A Very Modern Tale
sorenbarrett said:

A great twist on an old tale. Funny how time changes things.
\"Romeo, my heart be broken\"
This story has always been a tragedy .
\"I fell upon your love\"
In the original it was he that fell of the dagger from love of her. Another twist.
\"it was you
who wanted me gone
“you bastard”\"
The major twist here.
\"alas, we are both still here
i’m not speaking to you anymore\"
Another twist it was death in the first case now life, and with it no fame. Ah the cost of fame. A fun and yet pensive write.

You have the gift of words dear Teddy; finding them, arranging them in the most pleasing way, bestowing them with emotion, so that they leap from the screen in this beautiful ode to love, placed oh so gently on that pedestal.

I am comforted by the thought that the sky is beautiful even when the sun is gone. Thank you for your poem, Teddy. It succinctly portrays a surely universal moment of vulnerability--and I like the egg-yolk image :D

Looking up at the stars in the darkness, the stillness of night, is a feeling you have found the words to describe beautifully. It calms the mind and the soul, even if just for a while, to gaze upon what seems infinite. Incredible!

Love as a word in English is such a complex word. It can mean so many things from passion to adoration. It is ambiguous and covers so many emotions. Very nicely written in first person making it so much more personal. Lovely no pun intended.

A beautiful thought but I believe the the stars above are nothing more than a reflection of the stars within and thereby you yourself. As for the comet don\'t be too anxious Mark Twain was born with Haley\'s comet and died with its coming again.

There certainly is something incredible about Van Gogh\'s work.

I have a jigsaw of that painting, it is not easy to do.

Fine words Teddy.

I too would like to think Van Gogh created his masterpiece after looking out on the heavens on a sleepless night. I love the texture, colour and movement of this beautiful painting. He had such a troubled mind and yet this artwork brings in some much needed light. Your words dear Teddy capture well the mental torture he had to endure. A fine tribute. Have a wonderful Sunday. 🌹
