There’s a real street-level energy in this—London as contradiction and chorus all at once, pride stitched right through the noise.
And what stands out is how you don’t smooth the city out… you let the penthouses, the gutters, and everything in between stand side by side, still calling it home.

Hope
Tristan Robert Lange said:
Teddy, this speaks to me. Hope has always seemed less about certainty and more about possibility...the willingness to keep imagining that tomorrow can be different from today. I appreciate the straightforward honesty with which you explore that here. Beautifully done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

Teddy, this speaks to something that has always unsettled me...the gap that can exist between outward measures of success and what is actually happening inside a person. The poem takes that idea and drives it home with ruthless efficiency. Beautifully done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

There’s a gentle sincerity in this—like hope isn’t abstract, but something felt in the body, alive and moving.
Feels like you’ve made it simple on purpose… because the truest things usually are.

Yes, I was hoping for a hat trick today.
Sadly I got sent off for dodgy tackle.
No hope with that ref.

Every city it seems is unique in the way it portrays itself.
Life revolves around the ones who have and the ones who have not.
Seems to me it has never changed.

I agree with the perspective of this poem, unfortunately, most of us don\'t get to say goodbye to those we love.

Hope the gloomy days are just a phase of life and will not keep us stuck forever. The truth is a person might smile and laugh again, but I don\'t believe it is ever going to be the same again. Well written.

It is really beautiful and heart-warming to see someone love their city they grew up in. The poem has a sense of belongingness I cannot express with mere words, but something I could feel in my throat, and I feel cold during the summer.

Teddy, what a heartfelt tribute to your city. I love that the poem doesn\'t romanticize London into perfection. Instead, it embraces the full picture...the pubs, trains, rain, rooftop bars, graffiti, football, wealth, poverty, and all the people in between. That honesty makes the closing declaration of pride feel earned. Wonderful write, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

Totally, the standard of politician today is so bad that just being a politician should bar them from being one.
I reckon that if you mixed the politicians in the commons into a potion, you still couldn\'t get a full half-wit.

Teddy this is a wonderful piece that I can hear my parents saying some seventy years ago. It is interesting how though things change they remain the same. I imagine that they were saying the same thing in Nazi Germany. We the people are the ones that elected our leaders it seems that we never learn but then what can be done with a magicians choice. Very nice Teddy loved it.

Will I Ever Find Me
Tristan Robert Lange said:
Teddy, this really moved me. What I love most is how unguarded it feels...the questions about smiling, laughing, crying, and finding yourself again are things many people carry but struggle to say aloud. The image of the river of lost tears is haunting, and the final question leaves the poem suspended in a place of longing and uncertainty. Powerful and deeply heartfelt, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

Teddy, this feels deeply freeing and quietly triumphant. The poem carries that difficult but necessary moment where someone finally chooses themselves over the version of themselves others were shaping. There’s courage and relief woven together beautifully here, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

Hi Shirley, you have to put yourself first in these situations. Onwards and upwards. All the best in your new job, I hope everything works out OK. I think the woman who has been bullying you has gotten off lightly though. I\'m sure she\'ll get her comeuppance eventually.
