Such a true write Teddy, Joyce, my wife of 40 years suffered from dementia and I know all about it. I say to people if you have not lives 24/7 with somebody who has dementia you haven\'t a f****** clue what it is like. She passed six years ago and it was a release for both of us, the anniversary of her funeral is in two days time.

Dearest Teddy, this is a gentle meditation on thought and presence. The clouded mind doesn’t feel lost, it feels observant, hovering just far enough away to see clearly. Quiet, reflective, and well written my friend!🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Dementia such a sad disease and robs one of the only treasure that is left in the end, one\'s memories. For some stuck in a happy place every stranger becomes their mother or father for some stuck in a sad place no one is recognized. God grant me death in the physical sense before mental death. Good write my friend

Dear Teddy, I connect deeply with this. Learning when to hold on and when to let go has been one of the hardest inner negotiations I know. Your poem names that struggle with truthfully. Well done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Know thyself and to thine own self be true strong points in psychology, philosophy, literature, poetry and society. A lost art missing in much of a modern world of plastic and projected computer generated images. A lovely write Teddy

Great work, Teddy. If anything, the strength here is tone control: playful without being cute, dark without being heavy-handed. It feels like confidence masquerading as humor.

The trick is to never let him keep up with the dance moves. Great minds do think alike.

Dearest Teddy, this is clever and disarming. It walks right up to something dark, then sidesteps it with wit and confidence. That tonal turn is sharp and satisfying and I thoroughly enjoyed this , my friend. Happy Saturday! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Don\'t be surprised Teddy the devil is a hell of a dancer. I heard that it was he that invented the tango, the passa dobles and the samba. The lobata for sure and maybe the meringue and mambo. He loves the jive the cha cha and even the waltz. He definitely is not into line dancing or even square dancing and even the foxtrot is a little to stiff for his taste so pick your dance and he may show you a few new moves. A good read my friend

Teddy, There’s a quiet ache in this, the way loss and visitation share the same breath. Raven feels less like an omen and more like a witness, staying when everything else has already passed through your hands.

Dearest Teddy, this feels like grief processed gently rather than explained. The raven sits, time moves, memory holds…and the poem lets that be enough. Wonderful restraint. Well done! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Carried Away
Thomas W Case said:

Teddy....Fantastic work...This hits me in the chest. You’ve carried it all—laughter, pain, love lost at sea—and you’re still standing, still walking, still dancing, still daring. There’s a weight and a freedom here at the same time, the kind that only comes from really living and surviving the dark as well as the light. I feel the grit, the salt, the pull of the path you’ve chosen—and the one that chose you. Raw, real, and unapologetically alive.

Dearest Teddy, this is a poem of agency and survival. You name the dancing, the grief, the choosing, and let them all lead to that final truth…you carried yourself, and that matters. Beautifully done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

A Poet\'s View
sorenbarrett said:

So short but says so much. A thought that I have had a great deal lately. It seems that people play the game of money just for the sake of it. There are those that have more than they can ever spend yet continue to play. Then there is the ultimate thought, no one can take any of it with them and as for buying indulgences that went out a long time ago. One might leave an empire but look how past empires destroyed families. A wonderful write in the true spirit of poetry where less is more. Wo nicely done Teddy
