WE ARE SAILING ..................... ! A Blank Verse Sonnet

I live in Florida and we are surrounded by water. We have ponds and canals everywhere. We have a beautiful park on the neighborhood where one rent canoes and go down the river. Very soft. The beach is just about 7 miles away because I live in Jupiter Farms. I\'m not so good with water though. Love the beach when the water is soft and not wavy. Thanks for your beautiful poem.

I too live near water. Love rafting or canoeing down a river. Don\'t get to boat as much but I love it! Much like I loved your poem! I envy that you can go on cruises to all those places. Great job! Hugs--Christina

Rarely put feet on water so to speak although did go on the ferry Cross the Mersey a few months back and last month was on the River Douro in Portugal so not doing so bad. Nevertheless I appreciate this poem and the fascination for water.

Your poetry packs a strange punch. I can\'t really put my finger on it. If I had to say, it would be that it\'s both playful and serious at the same time. It\'s really perplexing. Anyways, well done. Happy writing friend.

Good write but another things that you have to remember is that us Brits were the ones that started upsetting the Native American culture in America, the Pilgrims were not all saints!

I to am angry about white men who did this unspeakable act. I\'ve studied
about the native americans and how the white men took their land. when more and more people were coming into the country they needed more room for settlements, and the way I see it they talked and did use something called indian removal. and took more land pushing the Indians westward. I am ashamed to be an American. call me benedict Arnold. (paul). man without a country. I hope this opens some eyes. onepauly

Beautiful message in the picture and I really liked the poem. I have a small percentage native background and I really appreciate the poem. I have always felt strongly about the things that you discuss here. I echo also that I would never live in the city. It is amazing to see tribal dances, etc. This is one of my favorite topics that you\'ve written about. Thanks for sharing! Hugs-Christina

One of the most beautiful I\'ve got from you. It speaks to me the way you wrote it, because I\'m always listening to the leaves and the arguments of frogs 🐸. I can hear the insects wings everyday of my life even though I drive a Toyota, don\'t ride a horse. As for the Indians I live very close to a park called the battlefield park where they have the history written there for people to see. So sad! Thanks for your beautiful poem.

burning-embers makes a good point in his comment. The history of mankind is the constant claiming of lands that were occupied by other tribes and other civilizations ... including such actions by American Indian tribes amongst each other. Such is the nature of the beast. Is it right? Can it be judged or condemned? It is what it is ... a part of the earth experience. Fine tribute poem, Briansodes!

Wholeheartedly agree but let us Brits not be \'holyer than thou\' about this. Remember we TOOK the lands of british empire by force crushing resistance in much same way as early americans did.
Great piece of writing - provoked me as u can see lol.

Oh! I\'m almost feeling like an outsider. It is like all the sober and emancipated people gathered out here. I wish my poor English would get miraculously fluent from day to night so I could understand and participate more on such interesting conversations. I love this pairing with all of its dripping colors. Wonderful art. I can paint too but never been brave enough to post any of my work here. Brian, you always has a way of pay tribute for others. Thank you for your beautiful soul. God bless.
