I once had an amazing experience with a Great White Owl in the mountains of NC. It is too long to relate here, but it spawned a poem that I will share at some point. Love your poem, Brian!

In s. Louisiana we have screech owls that make an eerie sound. Their bones are hollow and they have little meat making them extremely light loved the poem.

I have watched Barn Owls in the wild a great deal, as I have other owls. The unfortunate thing about Barn Owls is that there are more of them in captivity than there are in the wild.

HONEY BEES ~ BEAUTIFUL

Unique poem about the wonderful honeybee! You should see the huge container of honey I keep! It goes in my tea. I\'ve also found a teaspoon or two is a reliever of the hiccups. We must do what we can to save the honeybees as people are mentioning. An excellent poem!! Hugs--Christina

HONEY BEES ~ BEAUTIFUL
Augustus said:

Bees are threatened today by defoliants. Honey can simply be stored at room temperature in a jar and does not go bad or loose its fresh goodness. Again, another poetic perfection from Brian.

Very nice poem. I was encouraged to see President Obama visit there before he left office. You will very much be missed by MPS while you are gone! But I know you will fill us in with some interesting poetry when you return. Safe travels. Hugs! Christina

An interesting one. The generally held western take on the Cuban missile crisis of 1962 is, at the least, highly questionable when seen through neutral eyes.

PEACE OF THE DOVE ~ An Acrostic Sonnet
Gary Edward Geraci said:

Edifying write Brian. I consider it a blessing and a time for a spontaneous prayer when a dove lights up in front of me. The symbolism to the Holy Spirit in my own faith tradition is strong. We\'ve got an over abundance of them here in Texas; they are legally hunted and prepared for dinner between the months of September and January.

PEACE OF THE DOVE ~ An Acrostic Sonnet
Augustus said:

How is it that billions of people pray for pease and still it eludes us? Doves are my fovorite bird. They are almost always with a mate. There coloring is distinct. When they take flight there is a fluttering sound like no other.

PEACE OF THE DOVE ~ An Acrostic Sonnet
Goldfinch60 said:

Good peace filled write. Unfortunately I have to disgree about the peacefulness of doves. We feed the wild birds and unfortunately there is a dovecote not far from us and the doves come to the garden and eat the wild bird food, that I suppose is not so bad but they ATTACK the wild birds which as far as I am concerned is not on. I have a water blaster now with which I scare the doves away.
