My Bed For The Night

Wow. Standing alone sans the author\'s note this is a very pretty number, the additional information raising it to heights far beyond. How charmingly rendered with nigh exquisite imagery and seeming so chock full it is like a meal which would have satisfied the unfortunate soul if only words could pull that off. Hauntingly poignant on its own, your note raises it to near painfulness. Thank you so very much for sharing!

This seems to come to a happy conclusion. If neglected, cuddle up to your pets. They have more than enough love to share. Enjoyed the fun Tobani. My dog Solo is sitting next to me as I type:)

The homeless. We should be ashamed at the number of people sleeping on the streets. I donβt care what the reason is, it is inhumane that anyone should be out in the freezing cold weather, or any other time of year. If illegal immigrants are housed in hotels, then the homeless veterans and others deserve the very same. Your poem Tobani, so well written, touches a nerve and makes me angry.

Wonderful poem, Tobani! Written with lots of emotion and with a heart for the homeless and road side people, great work!
Much appreciated.
I found it not only beautiful but a reality spoken with beautiful words because I am myself a social worker in my city Kolkata, India and I regularly donate people on the roads asking for assistance just to live their lives.
I have also donated 300 Indian Rupees to the famous NGO of our country
Helpage providing home to the homeless, older people on roads, free treatment for people having cancer and other dreadful diseases, orphans, poor children with a intelligent brain and so on.... providing them the life of dignity and respect.
This poem holds good for our country as you know there are lots of people below the poverty line!
We are still much behind in taking out people from the poverty line, a very sad truth...
Anyways thanks again, I loved this poem a lot!! β€οΈ
Thank you π.

And right there is where itβs at. Had to sleep on the street one cold night, the coldness of being alone and invisible could have been worse than the physical weather that sent chills all through the heat of sunrise. Good stuff here.ππ»π

there is a lot more of this about than many might imagine & sadly even local councils don\'t know or don\'t wish to know the true extent of the problem .. I still regularly do a homeless count for the local shelter often coinciding with the local authorities head count on particularly cold nights .. and on average, I find and count ten times more street homeless than them .. it makes my blood bloomin boil .. Needless to say, I am glad you touched on this raw nerve PL ..

A highly poignant social commentary type of poem! It beggars belief that here in England we have more homeless than ever before! The latest available figures (for 2023-2024) show that more than 320,000 HOUSEHOLDS in England alone faced homelessness! Most households will have more than one person, of course! Also, these figures do not include the number of people who are already homeless! So sad!

A poem from the heart written in the first person. The plight of the homeless is a sad thing in a modern world of plenty. Sad souls with mental disorders or just bad luck they roam the streets like dogs searching for food and a place to lay their heads. In metaphor many if not all of us are such roaming an emotional and psychological world in search of a home we are all the homeless.

I must, perforce, behold and hear the evil, yet prefer to see beyond to the beauty barely in sight and less readily heard. Fascinating and sweetly rendered in charming brevity with a haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing!

Tobani, your poems are always beautiful! Continue writing and reading more poems in the coming days here in MPS.....
How many of you are Robert Downey Jr ( RDJ) fans here?π€©π
He is great! Ain\'t it? Send your opinions here.
I loved how he acted in the Marvel Universe\'s Ironman, The Sherlock Holmes----2009 and The Game of Shadows in 2011!
RDJ playing in the boxing match as Sherlock Holmes and chasing Irene Adler in disguise to learn her motive was the most interesting scenes of the movie.....ππππ
I loved how Rachel McAdams acted in the role of Irene Adler in this movie, falling in love with her acting skills once more!
She stunned everybody with her acting as Irene Adler and beautiful Victorian red bustle costume she wore in this movie... In my opinion she is the best Irene Adler ever!ππβ€οΈβ€οΈ
Kindly, share your comments on this.
What do you think about the great actors, Antonio Banderas ( Spanish ) and Guy Williams ( who appeared as Don Diego de la Vega or his alter ego infamous Walt Disney\'s Zorro) ??ππ
Let me know about your opinions, guys....
Anyways great write, Tobani! Hope to read more of your poems in the coming days...
